IRS vs. Swing axle rear body mount...

So I'm building a Baja Bug and decided to go with an IRS in place of the swing axle. I found a newer donor IRS torsion/ horn assembly and swapped out the two. I know this has had to have been addressed a bunch of times but I have a small issue. The body mounts that are in the wheel wells are too long now and the body cant match up to the floor... Looks to be about a
1 1/2" difference. Now there is a gap between the body and the floor on the back and the body is sitting perfectly on the mounts on the rear shock towers. So is it easier raise the body mount or lower the body mount on the torsion? My gut feeling is to raise the body portion? Whatcha think? :sawzall::welder::plasmacutter:

I just cut the mount off flush with the inner fender well. I used a cut off wheel, the saw was not working out. I'm not reattaching until further with the final body mounting. I also had to notch the sheet metal just ahead of the mount.:Idunno:

Done deal... Used the cut off wheel as the saws all was the wrong length to get a flush cut. I havent tried to bolt it down yet so some more trimming in front of the mount might be needed like you said. Thanks for the Heads Up!
