Test drove the autostick around the neighborhood about 3 laps. Real easy no hot rodding or showing off. (no plates or inspection sticker) Few minutes later local police shows up driving around like he is looking for something. hmm?

Getting the camper ready for the Texas Classic this weekend. Getting four new 6ply radial tires. Leaving Friday for Texas Classic a 9 hour drive.

Ok... well, it was today and I can't wait for tomorrow, but...

just got back fromt the glass shop to have the 'Buncher's windshield chopped! Should have it by Thursday!

And yesterday, I continued a mad thrash to get my garage organized and tore apart my headlights so I can modify them to be actual headlights...

Turns out that old 5" foglight bulbs have different tabs molded around the bulb than standard 5" headlight bulbs. So they won't fit into the housings. I had to order tractor lights with the single tab (instead of the 3 that a standard bulb has).

So yeah... I know that made no sense to anyone but me... but that's ok. Yay for me.

ConductorX April 28th, 2005 05:20 AM

Went to the Texas Classic over the weekend met some Volksrodders there.

Took 13 hours to drive there from home and another 12 hours back on Monday.

Tuesday night picked up this '66 that was given to me as a freebie and I passed along to my partner in crime to replace his other '66 that needs to be Baja-ed or Rat Rodded or something serious done to it.

Started sorting through my boneyard. Cutting up old junk to make smaller chunks for a trip across the scales.

Discovered that so far I have three complete irs rears, three complete front beams and two tunnels (with out titles).

I finished the speaker boxes for the rear of my Squareback and started the final wet sanding to get the minor blemishes out of the clearcoat.

Tough to take a nice shiny paint job and make it all dull again. Just need to keep reminding myself it will look better in the end. First show is weekend after next so I need to get her wet sanded, buffed and reassembled by then.

Griznant May 11th, 2005 01:40 PM

I've been welding up the bottom of my '72 Super project. Need to get it all re-done so I can paint it, reassemble and sell it. I ended up doing a full restoration on it, even though I said I wouldn't. The pan is completely re-done, and the body is on its way. Got the right rear quarter welded up last night and have a little bit to finish up in the rear wheel well before moving up to the front. Damned rusty shit.

dayzwalker May 11th, 2005 05:06 PM

I put in some rear speakers in the pacel tray of my girlfrinds 73 standard. When I was running the wires under the driver side carpet I realized that there was no floor Wow, for being an all california, and all bay area car, where we get maybe ~20 days of rain every year, I was suprised to see the floors rusted through. Oh well, its not my car!

6 Ball Joint Frame heads
3 Pans with Titles

vwfanatic May 12th, 2005 04:53 AM

flatfourrodder May 12th, 2005 06:57 AM

Put trollies under the bug so I can move it out of the Garage to work on it.
More paint stripping of my new louvered decklid. Its not as straight as I thought when I bought it. Lots of bondo! Well it will fit right in with the rest of the Bug.

ConductorX May 15th, 2005 04:43 PM

Pulled the beam out of the autostick:

Cobey May 15th, 2005 04:45 PM

Snatched a motor, AS trans, disc brake system, and other parts from a totaled Ghia so I would have some spare parts for Edel if her trans goes out.

busguy71 May 15th, 2005 04:48 PM

Started to rebuilt a carb in the endless quest to make my bus run right. I'll finish it next week
