hear is my 02 883/1200R
I would like to add a better seat and some lace ups one of these days Just finished the 1200 kit with Redline cams and a Mukuni flat slide Runs out good for a HD I put about 2k on it last summer. |
I just missed out on this KZ400 on eBay. I would have bid more aggressively if I didn't already have so many projects going on. The sad part is that a dealer won it. So you know it'll be back up for sale with a 100% mark up now!
|
This is what's been keeping me away from my beetle & the forum for the past month or so (along with looking for work ) Not far to go now in fact i should go out & do a bit now...
[attachmentid=8791] It's a 78 XS650 that has sat around the back yard for two years since it was hauled back from a music festival in the back of a transit van after letting me down. It later turned out that one of the fuel lines had worked loose & the tank had simply drained itself of gas. I discoverd this after replacing the coils & checking the electrics because I KNEW that there was plenty of gas in it! What a dickhead eh? I think i was a bit too to be working on the bike. Oh yeah... I sawed the arse end off & am turning her into a bobber of sorts. If anyone is interested just ask & I can explain how simple it is to do motor in & all. |

Here is the main page for my 1974 750 GT. Follow the links there to more pictures than you can possibly want to see. Nowhere near everything is posted though, I've taken literally hundreds while working on it. After almost three years, it's finally nearing completion. I recently finished painting it and am now timing the cams so I can put the engine back in the frame. I've posted pics of it here before, but at the risk of experiencing the off topic wrath of the rodders, I'll post few more. This one is pretty much "current state" though I have got new badges for it: http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/Paint1374_m.jpg Here is a "before" pic to give you an idea of what I started with: http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/RoundcaseB4tn.jpeg Here's an "in progress" shot featuring "Desmo", our wondermutt. (Sorry about the size, can't resize things on my computer at work...) http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/desmo414.JPG The new Ducati Sport Classics are sweet. They had a couple at Mid Ohio last July and I really liked the "Sport" model. But I think if I bought another new Duc (not likely, unless I sell a few things) I'd go with the new 1000cc Monster S2R.
I have been wanting to upgrade my Ducati, but I don't think I can afford it for a while yet. I will be looking next year for and older Duc though to start a project. If I am able to upgrade I am going with the S2R1000 as well. Then the wifey gets the 750 monster |
well, I dd a serch for the propper place to put this, but I couldn't find an exact post, so I figure I'll put it here. it's cool, and it's old so here it goes. This is mt latest project. It's a 74 triumph 750 engine, plunger frame, drag bars and a new oldstock tank Ifound on a shelf in a bike scrap yard. I have spent 3 weeks on the body work and I finaly shot some paint on monday the engine went in tonight and I still got a long way to go. so here's the pics.

bike's looking great. Looking almost like the Rat Fink bike, maybe because of the color.
BTW: thread renamed Motorcycle Thread and added to the Lazy Thread for future reference |
Damn Newf that is pretty! A friend of mine just sold a similarly styled Triumph for $8500 to some guy in Portland who parks it in his garage next to his Ferrari I hope you get to put some miles on it before some weekend warrior lawyer/doctor/etc makes you an offer you can't refuse.

cb550.One of the employees has it stashed in the upstairs parking lot behind the stairs,I asked but he werent there how can I take up more space in a garage that doesn't have any? |
Thanks guys, I'm very excited about this project, shame it's winter here, but I low I'll still ride it regardless.
Um, whats the rat fink bike? I still got to do a graphic onthe fender and tank, and I was thinking some sort of scalop design, bt I can'r decide on a color, maby black with a silver pin, or white with a tan pearl with a silver pin. Also I'd lke to add a small mural maby a coop devil girl design, or some sort of rockabillyish skull to the top of the tank. I lost the ebay auction for the boer electronic ignition, and I want to change the tires I have looked everywhere for a set of doubble white pin tires with no luck so far. |

I'm on a roll with posts today so here's an update on my 750 GT project:
http://www.teamyikes.com/bike.jpg Parts are being gathered for the aforementioned singles projects too. The 160 has become the main focus. I'm going to rebuild it more along the lines of an earlier 125 Sport, which probably means nothing to you guys but trust me, it'll be cool... if you're into early '60s Italian stuff! |
my boss is selling his 1949 and 1960something Triumphs. keep an eye out on ebay, the '49 is baby blue. would make a really nice project bike (too bad I just bought a project bike )

I try to see how much I can chop off a bug. Here is my current project:

(And you can see hints of my next two projects in the background...) |
ugh, that bike is so sweet...I love old Ducatis and that is a beautiful example of why.
