Well...this happened!

Been awhile since I've posted but I still keep my eyes on you guys! This project popped up the other day and I couldn't pass it up. It's pretty much just tacked up but it has a really good look, to me anyway. 283 (that ran when parked :funny:) "Powaglide", S10 rearend supposedly. We'll see what happens...:dancing:

Me, trying to decide if I really need another project.

Just aim the headlamps and you are ready to ride! It looks like Marty Feldman right now. :funny:

Looks like it has decent potential from here.

I'm kinda more intersted in the old Valiant sitting next to it... At least that's what it looks like... and possibly the multiple VW Bus/vans in there...

That's just showing off, now...

'66 Valiant you are correct! Nothing for sale at this point though.

Nice find though, Parker... You live near enough me I should come and see in person. I'm in Garland.

Man...this says I haven't logged in here since 2012. Crazy. Good looking project Parker! Can't wait to see what it becomes.

Can you move the rad shell back,
and put the tie rod on the back where it belongs ?

Love it, man. Not too different from mine, even with a 283. Mine also had a lot of questionable, or tacked up welds. So, a little fixing, replacing, and redoing at it gets customized to my taste. I look forward to see where you go with yours.

I'm not very knowledgeable on this frontend setup so far. It looks as though the steering arms can be switched side to side to get them pointed to the rear. I'm not seeing any Ackerman built into them though.

I will definitely do something with the grill, relocate it or replace it.

I'll be traveling for a few weeks, then I'll get it home and start digging into it. Thanks for the replies!!

Re: Well...this happened!

There are some good advantages to your type of setup. My steering knuckle is similar, but with much shorter steering arms. Seems like it will be predicated on your clearances for the motor and rad to know it can be reversed. One thing your set up does is make room for a lower radiator, engine position, tie rods, etc. Otherwise, you'd have to make room for your steering box in-frame, a center link and the tie rods. My center link ends up being directly under my radiator. I have very little room to run my tie rods through my radius rods, which limits OD of the tie rod assembly and restricts suspension travel.
