Re: Motorcycle Thread
If you don't already know, a CX500 is the same bike without the fairing and trunk (well, practically), so the CX500 users' groups are a good resource.
In the meantime, here's a taste: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/199/4...63cf6c.jpg?v=0 And you might want to change your signature since both are watercooled . . . . :funny: |

So why do the shocks on the rear look different? Is this a CX500? Did they just modify a rear fender, get a diff seat and run shocks from a cx500? |

But that's not my point - to go from stock to bobber you primarily REMOVE things. Chop the rear fender, delete the crash bars, forego mirrors and turn signals (usually illegally), etc. I've been toying for a couple of years with converting my CX to a trike (with either a Datsun or Capri II rear axle) - if you are interested, I can point you to my thoughts on that off list. :hello: |

Crash'es, most avoidable. |
Re: Motorcycle Thread
I'd like to see more pics of "Road Rage". I have wanted to build something similar for some time now using the smaller engine

"Yikes!" was my first thought.
It's, um, bright. |
Re: Motorcycle Thread
You SAID you wanted a GL500-based bobber . . . . Whatever that glow-in-the-dark thing is, it ain't no bobber!

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Hmm... I think it's about time for another motorcycle post.
I recently put together a video my "Ugly Duc" project. The bike isn't completley finished yet, but then there's more I'd like to do with the video too, so there ya go. The Ugly Duc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Os2XqSnpyw It's definitely off topic for this site so in addition to that link, I'll post up a pic of one of my latest bike projects that may be a little more on theme here... at least it's going to be a hardtail... The hardtail (a VERY early mock up): http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/MockUp_4186.JPG |
Re: Motorcycle Thread
My sooter. Over 150,000 miles and will still pull the front wheel up if I twist it too hard. My wife doesn't ride any more, so this thread has me wanting to build a Bobber.

Re: Motorcycle Thread

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Holy shit!! Is there a motorcycle in there somewhere?:funny:
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...t/P1010237.jpg Just screwing with ya, man. I've always thought a fully-dressed bike defeats the whole purpose of having one to start with. Of course, I've never tried taking one on a long trip either.:hmm: |
