might try a ratchet strap.. that could work, would just suck to have to do that everytime to get it on and off..

yeah, there are three slip joints, but with how it isn't fitting, it's not a matter of it rotating, the #2 pipe needs to slip in further to the header, or needs to be bent a tiny bit more..

I have read they end up being wider.
my engine is normal width, I had an off the shelf merger and it fit perfectly with no adjustments..
