Last tool you got?
I've been on a tool kick lately since I haven't been working.
I sold my Lincoln PowerMig 255c welder a couple years ago (like a dumbass) so I just picked up a Miller 210 with spool gun from the original owner. It has never ran anything in the spool gun and about 1/4 spool through the main gun. It came with all original books and the sealed VHS video.
I bought a US General toolbox from Harbor Freight. I like it. I had tools all over the shop so I bought this one and filled it up immediately. I went back and bought the locker for it since this pic.
I have picked up a few hammers lately at flea markets and yard sales. I have around 50. I met a guy yesterday with about 600-700 hammers! I have a few more not shown here.
I got a Columbian 506 vise from my last job. I was supposed to buy it for scrap price but I bought a trailer load of 3/16" and 1/4" A36 plate and the guy forgot to add the vise to the scale before writing up the ticket. He told me to just take it. FREE I am working on cleaning it up now.
I bought a 132 lb anvil. Holy crap are they getting expensive.
I answered an ad on craigslist and got 6 pipe wrenches and a few clamps for $20.
A guy I used to work with at Cat just retired right after I left there and he was cleaning out his garage. I got a 5500w generator, 5-6 hammers, a prybar and a manual drill for $160.
I'll post some pics shortly. I start a new job Monday...good thing, I need more tool money
What's the last tool you got?

Nothing all that sexy. Little things for work and some stuff for the house/projects.
I'm more excited about dragging dad's old drill press out of the shed to do some drilling for the Volksrod

Re: Last tool you got?
Just scored a 20 ton press and a 60 gallon Ingersol Rand 3.5 hp Compressor... both free. A few Wrenches for specialty items... and some semi-length 3'\/8" drive Allen sockets... Man... I never thought I'd use a tool so much but those semi Length jobs are awesome. I've gotten a lot more than that lately too... Just can't think of all of it right now.

Re: Last tool you got?
I wish I had some of those hammers you have there too... I only have about 30 or so... Not many are shaping hammers at this point either. Wish they were.

Re: Last tool you got?
Most recent thing I bought is one of those little doo dads that has a magnifying glass and two alligator clips to hold shit. I've been buying some cheap made in china crap lately for dirt cheap prices and the wires are all too small for connectors so i'm soldering shit together and heat shrinking it..

I bought a new cordless drill. I can't seem to keep batteries alive for more than 1 year.

Re: Last tool you got?
I bought a plasma cutter recently. Dual voltage, have not run the new 220 circuit for it so only used it as a 110v.
I used it to trim my spring plates on the Buggy. Did I mention I am driving it now too.
I want to get a 210 mig with Spool gun and I wanna get a Tig as well. Eventually...

Re: Last tool you got?
I picked up a 4' sand blast cabinet with dust collection system, a 20 gal parts washer, an 80 upright compressor and a Lincoln welder! I too have been off work(medical leave), and am getting ramped up for the Vrod build, and possibly having to make money for myself if I can't return to work.....
Anyone close enough that needs parts cleaned up, let me know!

Re: Last tool you got?
I have bought a few more hammers...no pics at the moment. I also bought a number of new hickory handles at a local store since the box stores do not sell handles anymore.
A buddy was helping me put up some privacy fence and somehow managed to break my DeWalt 18v sawzall. So, my wife bought me a 5 pc DeWalt 20 set for Father's Day.
Today I went vise shopping.
I'm looking for old hammers, vises, anvils, blacksmithing tools, etc.

Re: Last tool you got?
You can never have to many vises, Hammers, & anvils, I just hope some day I can afford a real anvil, but as I mentioned I do have several different sizes of Rail Road Track, 2 were already in the shape of anvils that I found at the scrap yard, they didn't wanna sell them to me until I asked if & where they keep Rail Road Track, he took a second look at the RR Track anvils & noticed they were in fact RR Track, I bought them for $0.19 a pound, the heaviest one weighed just under 50 lbs, the small one was just under 20 lbs, now I have about 6 or 7 pieces of RR Tracks in lengths of 8" long to 30" long, I also have a few pieces of round stock that will make good hammer material, so someday I hope to have a bunch of specialty hammers

Re: Last tool you got?
Wife has all sorts of plans for molding and shit at the new house, so we spent about $200 on a kit last month, comes with a small air compressor, two nail guns and one stapler.. Then today we were garage-saling and found an old Stanley 45/90 degree mitre box with saw in good shape, spent $10 on it.. then a few houses later found this:
http://www.manualslib.com/products/C...0-2835902.html
(Can't find a pic of the actual thing, so this is the manual for it..)
Picked it up for $40

NICE, get a GOOD blade for it, and spend some time fine tuning the fence.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say rear differential rebuilding.. bottom has a drain and the sides accommodate shafts.. maybe that's a hand crank pump on the right side?

Coal forge. I'm going to try my hand at a little blacksmithing as soon as time permits and I get some coal. I bought an anvil (wanting a bigger one) and I have a few hammers.

Dewalt 10"
radial arm was the best tool I ever bought. Paid for itself a hundred times over. Made kitchen and furniture building alone worth the price.
