So, I am outside going to town with my saw. Pumped up to do some cutting and I look over and realize that something is missing...

I walk over to my "Pile O Parts" and my W decklid is gone.

Needless to say I am pissed off. Honestly, if someone had asked for it. I would have given it to them as I wont be using it. But to have it stolen really ticks me off. In a way I guess I was kinda asking for it as it was on the side of my house. Not in plain view, but still fairly easy to get to from the street. Nothing else was looted. Just the Decklid.

Sorry, just venting.

thats like when my place got broken into, each day i noticed more and more things missing. Go over everything man, make a list and we will keep out eyes peeled, we should make a warning on the samba saying we got a couple of locals ready to kiss some ass if we find them

looks from your intro, that your project and parts are right out there in everyones faces, on a corner lot right near the street. i'm sure plenty of folks saw the car and the parts over the time you worked on it. looks like if the parts were on the side of your garage, they were practically in the street (if that's where they were)......kinda looks like you made it really easy and too tempting for some slime to pass up.

Yea. That is True Dan. As I mentioned in the 1st post, I was probably asking for it.
The dumb part is I was already planning on moving everything into the back yard last night. I just didnt do it in time I guess.

So, anyone know what a fair price is on a Decklid and a pair of doors?

You know... That is a really good question. The car is a 66. I honestly have no idea what year doors are interchangable. I hadnt thought about that. Yay, another thing to worry about. Thanks for bringing it up tho!

I may go down to the local Pick and Pull and see how much they want for Doors and a decklid as well. I'll be cutting up the decklid so not worried about the year on that (No, I wasnt going to cut the W decklid I had.. ).

If you have a pair of doors that works on a 66 and is feasable and reasonable to ship em, let me know how much.

Thanks,

~Ryan

ryan.....doors around here are nearly freebies.....way too many to sell them all, so free or cheap.....now, a w decklid is a little different story, but a later lid.....same as doors....if i was closer, i'd give them to you, i have a stack of doors i got free, but shipping would kill you.

Main issue on the doors (as I understand) is the door handle(inner and outer) and the inner door mechanics. Also the window reg.'s are different. But yes most of the time doors are a dime a dozen. Late deck lids are the same way.

By the way, who said anything about shipping? The way I see it, you've already been robbed enough!
