Having similar issues here (Dallas area of Texas) Our "Value" on our house has almost doubled in the last 5 years, along with our taxes. Don't know how long we can stay what with all the "rich" people moving in the area... ON a good note though... My wife just got a raise this week... so maybe we can stay a little longer.

It has been absolutely insane over the past few years in my area, it was the fastest growing area in Canada and partly due to prices in Toronto where even though it has dipped slightly recently,
"the average selling price of a detached home in the 416 area code was $1,283,981 in January, a decline of 3.9 per cent from the same month a year earlier".
Converted to US that is still $1,004,484.02 US Dollar.

luckily I am not in the 416 but the 905 and have been here long enough to see the values rise but yes the taxes did also

Well Jeff, there are still some places in western Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona that can be had for a fair price. Just have to pick the right area and neighborhood.
