Re: Motorcycle Thread
I'd like more info on how the inserts on the tank are formed and set... And yes... The color is outstanding! Nice choice on the paint and stripes.

Blimey, has it been that long?
Quick update: the CBX550 street scrambler project rumbles on.
Here's how it sits as of the other day...
Things that've been done:
Seat upholstered - outsourced the job
Engine cleaned painted and detailed.

Brakes overhauled painted and rebuilt. Braided lines, new front & rear M/C.

Enduro tyres fitted
400/4 tank painted - rattle cans by me

Carbs stripped and cleaned

Forks rebuilt, new seals & oil
Alternative speedo mounted on custom mounting plate with LED idiot lights.
Electrics modified as ignition barrel relocated to underseat
Rear alloy guard mounted along with rear light and scrambler rubber number plate

Front alloy guard mounted on custom bracket

Loads of little jobs that take so much time....
And the 400/4 is now a project bike for my son...a patina'd street tracker it will be.

Nice! Careful with those tires on the hard roads, they can be a little squirrely!

I'll note that Jeff, they do come highly recommended for road use from a dealer who actually uses them, but I have also heard the CBX is sensitive to tyre changes....we'll see
I have made some progress, it doesn't look like much but it's the fiddly small jobs that take the time.
It now runs, but has a misfire. Wiring nearly sorted, just speedo, headlight and LED idiot lights to sort. Tank now fits and speedo mounted.
Thanks for checking in.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I can't remember if I posted pictures of my Sportster 48 on here or not. Just got done fixing a few bent things as I dumped it about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Could have been a lot worse for the bike and me but damn........ That SHIT HURTS!

One of my numerous projects is my 06 Super Glide. I got bored with it being all stock. Then my fork seals started leaking and the front tire wore out. Was a perfect excuse to Tear it apart. Just got my Twisted Choppers springer sorted out. Now I gotta get a bunch of little stuff done while I save up for the wheels and tires.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
The springer should take care of the pesky fork seal problem. Plus, it adds to the overall 'impression ratio' of the bike. What kind of wheels are you going to run?

That's why I went to the springer. Simplicity + cool factor. This is really close to what I'm gonna get. hdwheels.com I'll be getting them in vivid black (gloss) with polished ss nipples

Too many projects at one time. But that's how I roll (or don't roll, as the case may be)

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I don't think of them as "too many projects at one time." Rather, just enough to keep me active and busy in a fun way.

In my head, it's "I've always got something to do," but to my friends it's "what the hell is wrong with this idgit?"

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Here is my ride. Not that I have had time to ride much lately.
It's an 05 Boulevard custom. Metallic cherry red with ghost flames. Lots of small bolt-on's and subtle mods.

Nice looking machine. Sitting there, she looks like she's begging you to go for a ride.
