Across the yard though, sounds sweet!
here it is again~

Wish he'd get some stripes put on it , it's too plain, but he has the barbed wire decals running on it. Yes he knows I do stripes, but not interested. oh well~

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Here's a short vid from a bike night I was at this weekend. I'm even in there at about 46 seconds and that is my new girl in red beside me (the one in the pin-up thread).

Re: Motorcycle Thread
i wanna know more about this bike, like what kind of transmission does it use, or is it a special made by the builder
all i can see is a big thick black belt on the other side, at least it looks like a belt, maybe it is a chain
i just wanna see more pictures of it, one from the other side would be nice

Appears to be a IRS transaxle, one side of the output is bolted solid and the other side has a chain sprocket. Could be a side shift out of a 914 ???

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Enjoying being on my little bobber a lot. It's getting broken in nicely and starting to loosen up to allow me reaching better mph. I now go all over Beaverton on it, ride to work every damn where. I hit a large gap in the road and it made my springer fork slip and the springs come loose, has to crawl it home and adjust and tighten a whole bunch then back out on the road again. And having 3 different style bike helmets, i finally pinstriped one! The others are next.

I don't know anything about it myself. I saw the pics in a thread about the Vintage Meet this past weekend in Seattle and figured some here might like to see it.
After your post, I asked if anyone knew any details and got this reply:

One of my favorites, those were my pics. I first saw this bike 5 years ago, at Bremerton. Then he re-appeared at vintage. It's a home built, drag bike with an IRS trans.chain driven, air shifter, back bone of frame is the fuel tank, runs on gas. Only have heard it started, never seen it go down the track. This year I offered to be his rider, but he's an older gentleman just enjoys taking it to shows. This is his tow rig. Easily a 10 second bike.
|
This isn't where I saw it but someone on a PNW forum like Franklin's might know more about the bike: http://www.franklinsvwwerks.com/phpbb/

I'v been wondering about this... I've seen several bikes built with IRS trannys and and aircooled flat fours setup midengine style. But is it possible to simply bolt one side solid to transfer the power to the other side?
I've always assumed you'd have to crack it open and actually lock the diff.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Been super busy working lately but have managed to find time working on my Royal Enfield Super Meteor cafe bike.
Mock up of engine. I painted the cylinders last week along with the painstaking process of polishing the heads and rocker caps.
Waited 3 weeks for my custom cams. Sent over my stock cams to MegaCycle in San Rafael who welded, ground, and hardened them. They had a full-race spec and matched it to my cams! This engine will SCREAM!
Stock lift (unknown duration) was .253
New specs:
All I need now to put the heads back together are some racing valve springs.
Had a local machine shop make me a custom neck and picked up bearings next door.
And saved the best for last....
Jig for the Norton Featherbed replica frame!
I'm pretty excited to see this thing come together from my own two hands. Many thanks to my boss for allowing the time for me to work on my own shit.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Hello all. I'll go ahead and make my first post on these forums in here because it's really where my love lies. Great looking bikes in here, hopefully I'll find the time to look at all the pages instead of just the last couple. Anyway, pictures, louder then words and all that shit, here's my 78 Sportster.
From this when I bought it...
To some chopping...
How she sits (mostly)...
And how I sit..
