Most likely, this was an attempt to renegotiate
a better interest rate. These sorts of loans, can't be
renegotiated if you are up to date on your payments.
So some people will try and weasel out, by missing
payments on purpose.

GE decided to file a foreclosure against the building, even though discussions have been ongoing. This in no way affects Orange County Choppers’ day-to-day business operations or the continuation of the popular cable show, seen Monday nights on Discovery Channel."

I suspect it's not only a ploy to re-negotiate the loan on their HQ building, it's also an attempt to de-value the company for when he finally has to pay up and give Jr. his 20% share of the company. It's all a shitty game and as soon as the show goes off the air, The company and the merchandizing rights won't be worth shit to either of them.
Even if they default on the building, GE will either re-negotiate the notes, hold the notes and take over the property and then lease it back to OCC to avoid a bankruptcy filing that would happen immediately if they ordered the premises vacated, or they will evict the tenant and guarantee they own an elaborate defunct motorcycle production facility.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Well my uncle told me this past weekend on the way to the Vtwin expo that if I get my motorcycle license again, I can ride one of his bikes this summer.
It will be either the gixxer or bagger because there is no way in hell Im riding his custom.
Stretched and lowered
Stock Bagger
His custom that he built

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Okay guys, I have a go-kart that I just haven't been able to sell and I might see if I can trade it for a bike. Could you guys take a look at this link and tell me what would be your choices for making a cafe racer. I don't want to make a screamer, just a nice cruiser I could ride to work or such.
http://www.toolstorechicago.com/current/cycles.htm
I have about $1,200 in the kart but I'm guessing I'm not going to get that back.
Any thoughts?
Jeff

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I'd look for a Honda CB350, CB550 or a CB750. Look on craigslist and try to find a running one WITH a title. Don't expect to be screaming around town trying to keep up with the modern bikes. It just won't happen without a LOT of engine work and deep pockets.

Thanks Tim. I would just like a simple cruiser. I'll keep looking. I found one local but it's pretty shot. I don't have the time to restore one. Heck, I don't even have a motorcycle license yet!

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I had a SL-350 (which was the off-road version of the CB) for several years. Easy to work on. Ran and ran. Like the guys say, you can't really beat 'em.
My wife's first bike was Yamaha XS-2, a 1972 650. Again easy to tinker on and realiable. There used to be, and maybe still is, the Yamaha 650 Society with lots of good info and hints. These bikes were build in all sorts of versions around the (mostly) same engine. Lots of parts available and possibly less expensive than the Hondas.
