Re: 1972 Nopar Volksrod Hellride
This is coming along great! Mine is waaaay behind! It's still in temporary storage until I can get it home, then I'll see what I have to work with! Thanks for the motivation!

1972 Nopar Volksrod Hellride
Dang, it’s been a while since I posted. Spent the last month or so building another engine. I pulled the 283 and swapped in a 305. I know they aren’t the most loved engine, but I’m running HO heads with bigger intake valves, a Performer intake with a 600cfm Edelbrock carb and a cam. I should be good for at least 250hp and if I’m lucky closer to 300, which isn’t crazy, but moves this 1500lb car pretty well. I’m interested in playing with turbos, which I have zero experience with, so this might be an engine that can tear up. It was basically a free core, since it was attached to the 700r4 transmission I got for my truck. The block just needed a hone and I swapped in fresh rings.
This will at least keep me rolling for a while as I continue to finish out the body and interior.

Sweet! I love the subtly of the color you chose for the block and heads. Perfect!👍

This thing is super cool. Another liquid cooled brother. Really cool use of a VW body and I dig the big tires.
