And to answer Purplemyth, yes, it's done.

There are two internal luggage compartment panels to install under the front hood; convert my tail lights from a 3-wire to a 2-wire; and a couple other little petty things...but for the most part....it's done!

Drove it slowly around the block. Even with the slow roll, I was able to determine the clutch needs a little fine tuning and the steering wheel needs re-centered.

Looking forward to a real maiden voyage when things dry out.

Heading to the Roadster Show on Wednesday 3-14 to set up for the three day weekend show. Very exciting!!!

Ok so I made it for set up at the Roadster Show.

Still owe a photo of it with the top up and someone sitting inside. But you can see the ghia behind it.

The International Show Car Association (ISCA) selects the class/category for all the entries at this show. Found out today that I'm in the "Radical Custom Compact" class." I agree with the radical and custom part..but a compact? Oh well...

Taking the wife out on a date tonight. To the Roadster Show we go!

So, the other owners of entries at The Show...do they bow when they approach you and mumble something like, "Your Excellency," or something to that effect?"

I'm a jack ass, I thought it was next weekend and made plans for this weekend. Good luck to you. I know of a couple of cars that are up there and the truck I helped a little on is up there. This would have been a great show to see, but, Just like all the other roadster shows - "I'm going, I'm going, I'm..... not going"

The car looks amazing in pictures, but just like the truck; Pictures don't do a ounce of justice

So the ISCA judges decided the Volkster was 1st in class for my category. The award was very second to how proud my wife and kids were with me and the car being at the show.

The kids sitting in the car mid show. People were becoming concerned that we were some crazy spectators who crossed the line and decided to just sit in someone elses car.

All in all, we all had a good time as a family. The car shocked many and received plenty of accolades. Now it's time to button up some loose ends and get this thing down the highway!

.
.
.
.
I have an idea for another two cars brewing....

Stay tuned.

1. Nice job!
2. Get the kids away from the car! They lower the value of anything by a minimum of 94%!!!!!
3. No flat black and rolling on earlies? And you call yourself a volksrodder....
Jeff
P.S. You're pretty damn ugly too!!!!!
