I like the idea but I'm not sure about how you've got them above. I was thinking more of inline going down each side with them vertical but slanted to match the body line. Of course, your decklid looks perfect as is to me. Sometimes less is more, maybe it's better to know when to stop.

Pete, that is going to look cool. The photochop looks decent, but it should look awsome upon completion. I realy think you should work on some custom tail lights. You should look around werths, they have alot of nice repros that would be an excellent touch on your car, not to mention a very achievable modification.

Get yourself 3 different sizes of aluminum tube and baloney cut them. Make a small hammer form to flare the ends a little and the mount them vertically along the body line in the decklid.
kind of like this....

I like John's placement down the body lines. I say go for it, if it doesn't work you can just hang that lid in the garage and paint another one! I've actually been thinking a lot about small custom touches like that for my car. As much as I would like to chop the top on my car it probably won't happen (unless of course some one just happens to bring a spare roof section to Steve's and some one *Walt* wants to chop it in between working on Steve's car ). So I've been looking at more subtle things like maybe frenched tail and headlights or using lights from another car.
