Thumbs up

Here's the deal. I've designed a set of bearing housings for the 34 but as I was looking through the Hot VW Magazine, Moore parts has an axle bearing housing in their ad. Is it an I.R.S. type housing? They also have Chromoly stub axles. Are these parts that an off-road guy would be using for the rear. I'm going to try to call Moore in the morning and hope that I don't get ahold of some moron that can't help me figure out if I should be using this stuff rather that to build everything from scratch. If any of you can shed some light on this stuff for me I'd really appreciate it.

Having made similar parts,I'd rather buy them if I could.
Or modify stock pieces.

Don't baja guys 99% of the time run IRS rear ends because of the mounds of travel they have in their supsensions? So just by that fact alone, I would assume that most of the parts Moore parts carries would be for an IRS...but I'm no expert!

Yes, most modern bajas run IRS trannys except the high-dollar ones that use Mendeolas or whatever and the non-VW poered ones. There are a lot of different CV joints ( bug, bus, 930 etc) and axles available along with trailing arms and such for mid engine too.

Chenowth Offroad makes carriers very similar to your drawing. This isn't a good picture, but it's the best I could find. You might contact them if you're interested in buying a set. They make good stuff!
