Default Got a new daily driver

Well my wife is sick of driving the minivan and wants her ford taurus (Barf) back from me so I picked this up, theres a bit of rust under the moon vents but it's nothing that I cannot fix...ill just take the plastic off and weld that shit up and hit it with some paint and call it a day.
solid pans & heater channels - all white interior, pop out windows, cd player with detachable faceplate (nice) empi style rims, 1600 dual port. all body and window rubber appears relatively new.

it's a shame you have to do that, the paint looks pretty nice. If I could find something like that around her I could afford I'd probably drop aat lest two of my projects and start from a good driver.

well, if the rust isnt all that bad i may just prep the area in the white where the rust is and touch it up with some masterseries and hit it with some more white and call it a day... it just depends on how bad the rust is there...
I couldnt pass this car up though thats the only place where there is any sign of rust... it was originally from California and was brought to Ohio about 4 years ago...im assuming Ohio is to blame for the rust. the front hood is a little banged up above the handle, it got kissed by someone but I can knock it out with a dent puller. everything else about this car is fucking killer clean. Im popping an adjustable beam on it then It's cruzin' time.

well im waiting..... to see it with my own eyes

drive that thing over here Eugene, i had to give up driving, well i can do short drives unless i have some one with me, then i can drive a bit longer, id fall asleep cause after about 5 traffic lites i start to take longer and longer blinks , and i can keep a conversation while my eyes are closed and driving

besides that im having troubles again , getting iron infusions once a week for a few weeks, so every Mon or Tues im at the hospital for about an hour and a half, i dont let it stop me on my car, i almost have it ready, may have everything but the wiring done real soon

stop by when ya get the Bug out on the road, just call me 1st, if'n i dont answer either call back a little later or ill call you when i see the missed call

looks like a nice car, and i wanna see it

you can say that again

hey didnt mean to cut ya short on the phone yesterday but my wife was hungry and i had stopped 2 times to answer my phone before you called, when i answered it the 3rd time (you) she just gave me the evil eye look

you shouldnt have any trouble doing the r-brake cable, its an easy fix

you have a repair manual? and if ya do what kind is it?
if not i have a few someplace, the extra's are in boxes, if i find one ill give it to ya if you need one, you just gotta come over and get it unless i can get a ride

good luck

comes off rather easy as far i can remember, just gotta remove a few wires (mark em ) then remove the accelerator cable, the lil nut or screw on the bottom of the throttle arm, loosen it and pop the cable end out, dont loose the lil cable keeper ( thats what i call it ) then the fuel line, then remove the 2 nuts on the bottom of the intake just under the carb flange, an off it should come
i think i member the front nut (closest to the fan housing) can only be turned a little bit at a time until you can remove it with your fingers (if'n ya get that lucky) otherwise it takes a while

9 out of 10 times it isnt the carb, its something in the ignition, check timing, check point gap and spark plugs last, if non of that helps then it may be the carb, oh yeah, check the cap
as well,

good luck

I use a 13mm S shaped box end wrench which makes the job much easier and its a way handy tool to have...Its handy to pop the distubtor cap out of the way too..

ya know now i member having to bend a wrench for that as well
i also had to grind down the sides of the open end side so it would fit between the nut and the side of the manifold, it was to thick and didnt fir all the way around the not
