Less time outside smoking = more time to break the internet right Bill?

Really? That works? Next time I'm at Steve's I'm going to slip a pill in his morning coffee!

I'm just glad I never started smoking. I have family that do, and I can see how difficult it is to quit, and how much money they spend on cigs.

Best of luck to all that are trying to quit!!

Shoots...that splains it Lucy! I was thinking..why the hell did my smokes keep going out laterly. Last 6 months I'm down to half pack on Friday nights from a pack a day. And in the spirit of new years...see If I can't quit 100% A-f-ing-again! Had my last one new years eve at 11:55 and tossed the rest of the pack (about $5 worth) in the fire pit...haven't had 1 "yet"... Bout $6.55 to $8.25 for Camel lights here..
Aloha to all you quiters!

If you can make it through the forst 10-15 days, then you've beaten the chemical addiction. Everything after that is psychological, which I think is the harder of the two to beat.
before I say this, let me remind everyone, Steve is the homo, not me, Steve! :P
I know I have an oral fixation, I almost always have a soda tab, or a pen or toothpick or something to chew on. I don't chew my cigarettes, but if I'm smoking, then I don't chew on as much..

Best of luck to everyone trying to kick em! If you're having trouble with the fixation side, and you're still smoking, look into those electronic cigarettes, I think they're $60, but they last for about 3 months and give you all the feelings of having a regular smoke..

yeah, i'm really thinking about buying one because I don't smoke in the Challenger, ash gets everywhere and you'll never get it really clean again. but the electric don't have ash and from my tiny bit of experience with them, they don't leave a smell either..

No they have no smell or ash and you actually blow smoke, which I think I was told was water vapor. I think I could give up smoking with the exception of the smoke that I have right after work.

yeah, that would make the trip from san jose to san diego a little better, the last two times I did it I forced myself to wait until I stopped for gas, food, or a urinal, and i'm sure that didn't help my road rage any :P

He was down to less 1/2 a pk a day, but 'stress' is pushing back.
Guess thats why I like my weekdays, NO ONE here from 730 til 330

I got a smelly pk yesterday, aggravated. stupid, I know. I leave them in the bus, out in the freezing garage.
I wish it were warmer, I have 2 vehicles that need to be, gutted!

A new disgusting thought to think about, smoking tennis shoes~

I am fairly certain that smoking any part of the tennis shoes I have worn would kill you instantly. I know that sometimes the smell can be enough to make you want to pass out.

I quit about 3 years ago, never really a big smoker. Never more than a half pack a day. But that was enough. I quit cold turkey. I bought a mountain bike and started biking when I moved to CO. If I hadn't quit smoking, It probably would have killed me at this elevation. I know that sounds kind of drastic, but the point is, I changed my patterns in life drastically. I had quit before for several years, but would fire back up after a year or so. Always using the patch and so forth with no continued success. Find some kind of activity that will take you physically out of your norm and stick with it. It will benefit you in more than one way.

That's how it worked for me. 3 yrs clean this month.

On the topic of those electronic cigarettes, I heard a commercial on the radio tonight saying that a company called Smoke Away was giving them away! I know, sounds too good to be true...but what if?

Anyways, the number is 1-800-851-7030, I heard it on 99.9 FM KISW (in case they want to know where you heard it)

Seriously, why not? If it's what it takes to get you to quit, free is a very good price!
