OOOo the purple one and the dark brown beside the blue!
Those all look cool though!

V8, the chimney pipe would have made cool flower pot garden. Cut into different lengths, stood up together in a circle, mounded with mulch, filled with soil, plants to let 'over flow'.

I was going to do my rabbit pen/potting area/side of wood barn yesterday, instead hit the pump shed area where my green house once stood.

Yep, I'm hurtin, but it feels good to see clean areas. :)

Whoa, nice work! My favorite is the small green & tan jug toward the rear, um...hey Jeff a comment on us liking jugs?
Ms. PM. I saved the 3' diameter brass plated top 'funnel,' for a yard project, I plan to have it inverted and filled with flowers. The trailer's still in the yard, I could pull the pipes and ship 'em to you..heh, heh.

Carlene inspired me. I spent all day cleaning the garage and now actually have some room to get to work in.

Well, yesterday I suggested the chimney pipe garden to Sherrie (a tip of the hat to Ms.PM). Among other flowering plants, she has about 40 roses, Iris nd God knows what else. etc. Anyway, the pipes are staying in the trailer and will grace the metal recycling part of the dump next week...sigh

Glad to help Ghia and V8
Here's friday's cleaning. Was my potting and compost area.
Going to remove it all later, but at least it's now mowable here. Still have to do inside where the rabbit pen was. Gotta park an empty truck close by first.
before after

Yesterday was off in the club moving stands and towers.

Grumble grumble! So, I have had a really bad wobble in the back of the ghia. Found the problem a few months back and replaced the rear drum that had the splines almost gone from it. Drove it again for about a month, wobble returns. Pull the new drum off....splines almost gone again. Hmmm.

So, realize that something is wrong with the method that the Type 3 drums are mounted on the short axle (we had machined off the outer "built in spacer".) Realize that I do not want to replace the axles with long ones for this car (I need it to drive for another seven months or so) because I am redoing it all in a year. Just want to drive it until I finish another one to take its place and it can undergo major surgery

Anyway, ordered Type 1 drums and shoes to fit the bill in the interim. So, spent to today drilling out the threads to press in 14mm studs (what I am using to mount the rims). Finish that up, go to put the new drums on.....no fit. Hmmm.

So, I learned something today, but accomplished nothing. Turns out Type 3 drums and shoes are not just wider than a Type 1 (which is what makes them so popular, as you have much better braking). Turns out they are also larger in diameter. So, if you ever switch back and forth, you have to swap the backing plate, wheel cylinder, the pins and springs as well as the drum and shoes.

At least my garage is still nice and clean......and my new drill press is AWESOME!!!

Had the extreme pleasure of driving down to Bristow, OK ('bout 25 mi. from my home) to meet up with Ray-Dean.
He had a 12V type1 starter that he very graciously agreed to give me for a grand total of - GRATIS, ZIP, NIL, NADA!!! What a guy, truly a V-R brother of top caliber.
Again, I say a big tank you, Ray-dean!

Guilt trip continues~

Sunday

Plus he drug the 2 fiberglass boats we have out front forsale. Small one gone already. He was wanting to keep big one, but I said ''honestly? when are you gonna have the time to completely gut and rebuild the floor and seats? The aluminum one just needs wood floors put on top of runners and seat pedestals installed."
I also got a nice smack in the face. Large limb from trees out front, unloading to a pile out back, across my glasses, bridge cut across my nose. Shit happens.
Yesterday~
930am
4pm
Destructive construction continues~

Don't ya just hate it when you put things off, then when you need a wheel and it has a tree growing up thru it?

I need to gut and clean out my garage, talk about a guilt trip somehow it just gets out of hand when I get lazy

Yesterday (staying on topic) I went to replace a rear wheel bearing, it's been squeaking for a few weeks now
I get everything apart and ready to put back together, then spent 5 hours looking for my wheel bearing grease, never did find it

I ended up opening up my grease gun (which is empty) and scrapped as much grease out of it as I possibly could, put it back together this morning

I need to just go buy a new tub of wheel bearing grease and re-grease all 4 wheel bearings, it's gonna need brake pads up front, and I'm, gonna finally finish my rear disc brake setup and put it on

Started on this next to garage, last week , not finished.
Cars parts to remove yet.

My mom has been here since last friday afternoon.
Yesterday brought home small pallets, plywood and an 8' 4x4.
I can put almost anything in my bay.
Especially if it's free. :)

Almost ready to start gardening again.

Yesterday was "that time of month" (when I visit the Vampires so they can check my blood to make sure everything is still working) I was driving home when all of a sudden
Crunch, Scrape, Grind (as well as a few other odd noises)

Gravel and rocks went everywhere, I see it flying out from under my car

I wasn't sure what I had hit, I didn't see anything as I was driving (nor did I see anything in my mirrors as I passed)
So I stop, get out and look under my car to see if anything was bent or broken, all I see is gravel laying on the bulk head of the frame

The bottom of the bulk head was bent where the beam originally bolts on, the little section that bends down about 3/8 to 1/2 inch at the bottom, guess you could call it a flange, anyhow no damage other than that flange bent back a bit and had taken the paint off the bottom of the bulk head

So I drive back to see what it was I had hit, I drive this section of road all the time and have never had anything like this happen before, when I get back I see how the ruts in the road from all the traffic leave a high spot in the center of the lane had big gouges in it from my car dragging across it, you could see the place where the flanges from the bulk head had dug out all the asphalt about 1/2 inch deep (wished I had my camera with me at the time)

There are a few intersections around here that are this way, and if I drive thru them where everybody else does my car scraps the ground, so I try to drive so my tires are on the highest parts of the road to avoid dragging bottom, seems the 1 time I take for granted I hit the high ground, scared the shit out of me (not literally)

I suppose I need to keep my eyes open for these high spots in the road "EVERY" time I drive, I got a bit to comfy and crunch, altho I was lucky it didn't damage anything, but it won't happen again at that section of road again

Pulled the Electronic Ignition pickup on the Sporty and lubed the pivots on the advance weights. Woo Hoo.
A couple more things and then it's the Triumph's turn (oil change, new brake pads, louder horn and perhaps a device that will make cell phones melt in the hands of their stupid 'drivers.') Then it's time to finally install the Ron Francis wiring harness in the Single Cab (only on my shelf for four years...that I'll cop to), get to the body work, yadda, yadda

Spent all day beating the engine and transmission out of an '82 Audi 4000, ended up having to cut the CV axles in half with a hacksaw while buried deep in the engine compartment

Then met up with some friends for a couple beers and some hookah.
