Cool video! My favorite part is pedaling the bike at speed. Have you considered mounting a player and speaker for projecting the sound from a Harley's tail pipe, or maybe a popcorn popper at full throttle?

Semi-fabricated the lower rear shock mounts for the coyote. Did the math for the uppers. Cut a piece of 1x2 for the sub-tunnel support. Found a tap I needed and called it good for the day. The heat plus humidity is hell right now.

I know what you mean. Located in the shade, our thermometer is showing 104. Lucky for us there's a nice breeze. Looks like time to fix the A/C on the old Ranger.
Sounds like excellent progress on the suspension, 'n congrats on the go kart $ale.

Yesterday I figured out the Autometer oil pressure gauge is bad on my V-Tee. It didn't work when I bought it and the seller thought it was the sending unit. Well, the wire was missing from the sender, so that would be one problem. Before running a new wire, decided we better check the gauge itself and no go.

While at it, I decided to also adjust the front brakes and WOW, the pedal doesn't want to go to the floor anymore. Still need to do the rears but wow, I couldn't believe how out of adjustment they were.

I can't remember off the top of my head & it's been years since I've done it, but heat it up till its not magnetic (I keep a magnet hanging from my forge by a wire so I know when it non magnetic) then bury it in a bucket of sand or perlite (the gardening stuff) & let it cool off as slow as possible, it should take the hardness out of it & make it easier to drill
I'll see if I can find my notebook to double check that, unless someone else knows, or you can do a quick Google search, I know I've been wrong before

Dang 20 drill bits, I have a bunch of 3/8 drill bits, but not 20, them things aren't cheap

Ron

Still working on the holes. I'm going to ask good money if I go to sell this thing!
Hey Ron, if I just take a propane torch to the holes and get them cherry, will it soften that area up enough?

Got an oxy torch with a rosebud head? That would sure do it. They use those for bending wrought iron. I wish I had an oxy torch...

Try it, then see if a file will bite into it

I thought of a much easier way, it may be a bit costly tho, go buy a solid carbide drill bit, make sure you keep the part your drilling clamped down good n tight because carbide breaks easy, it's when it breaks thru the other side

I tried looking for some of my notebooks to see exactly how to do it, but the past 4 months we have been moving things around the house to make room for furniture, I may never find them anytime soon

Fab-tastic work and a kick ass video. This is a project where the quality of the work hides the amount of work required.

I got the Coyote rear end as a roller. The temp shocks in place and most of the frame tacked. Time to move to the front suspension to get the front and rear tied together.
The Subaru Santa delivered my new wiring harness the other day so I just need to get the gas tank piped and the radiator hooked up and an exhaust fabbed and I can give it a start!

Got something new for the 2002.

I wasn't sure how'd it look, but damn does it look good!

Well worth the 155 I paid for it. The horn broke on the original Brazilian fox steering wheel so I said screw it! Bought that and it fits like a charm. Had to grind down an internal section and take the auto cancelling stub from the fox wheel, but so worth the work

Just finished my latest light. Uploading from a new site. ( photobucket!) It is 7' tall, weighs an ungodly amount, has 3, 75watt LED floodlights in it. Took 30 minutes to get it back on the sunporch.

Cool work. Is the base a re-purposed plow disc?

Thanks. Yes it is and the metal is hard as hell! Went through about 20 drillbits trying to get the right size holes. Finally did it but went with smaller bolts as I wasn't going to spend another week drilling!
The whole thing is crazy heavy. I may end up selling it but I can't imagine shipping it as the only part that can come off easily is the base, the rest would require disconnecting the wiring. It has a 24' 6" power cord on it too!
Everything but the shade and bracket is clear coated to keep it from rusting.

Back to one of my other hobbies, rc monster trucks. This has been an on and off project for a really long time. Tamiya Clodbuster with a metric ton of aftermarket crap thrown at it. Very close mechanically. But still have to finish the body (not this one, but a new one) and all the electrical and electronics
