recumbents are awesome. that one is an old rebike, but as recumbents go it is heavy and clunky. that is why i have a bike-e now to actually ride. the rebike just looks soooo cool though

I just got rid of an old schwinn trike(gave it to some neighborhood kids for cleaning my garage)It had ape hangers and a really cool 16" wheel in the front with a drum brake built into the hub

I have a few.The Schwinn Orange County Chopper has never been ridden and still has all the original tags from the factory.Too bad the factory is in China!

I just picked up another one and have a line on 4 more. They are all getting cut up. They are absolutely impossible to ride in stock form, for me.

I'm looking into getting a StingRay Spoiler to cut up as well.

actually, I was just thinking the little paint booth is pretty rad. I moved into an apartment with no garage or anything, so I have to wait until my landlords leave for work and paint in the driveway...

It's ok, but you can't get all the way around the bike for even spraying. I've got some scrap banner from work that I'm going to hang from the ceiling to close off a workable area.

Tough about the apartment. I have a one car garage detached from our condo complex. I've got my bug, toolboxes, three bikes right now and storage. Not easy to work in.

I know zilch about bikes but I picked this one up today. It's kind of crusty but it doesn't really look to me like it's particularly old. It's a Huffy and says `Good Vibrations' on the chain guard. Anything interesting to know about it or is it just a cheap Huffy?

Both rims are warped. Is it worth trying to straighten them, if they can be straightened or would it be easier to just pick up some straight rims somewhere?

I'd say the multiple missing spokes could have something to do with the warped wheels

Wally World carries a new version of that bike.

Coupla new spokes, a cheap spoke wrench and you should be able true the wheels pretty easily..

Then chop it up.. :D

The old Huffys that were made in America are actually nice bikes. My wife still has her old Huffy that was and it rides a million times better than the new Made in China or Taiwan or where ever one that we bought one day on the way to the beach. (We were on our way to the beach and she decided she wanted to ride bikes on the beach so we stopped at wally world and bought two of the crappy Huffy cruisers)

Somehow, all our bikes ended up outside (thanks partly to moving and partly to having a teenage son). The new Huffys are both rusted to shit and her old one barely has any rust on it.

I always thought of Huffys as the Chevrolet of bicycles. (think old Chevrolet, not modern Chevrolet)

The "Ratz" Bike. I usually keep it in the trunk of my Comet so I have something to cruise around car shows in.

It actually was one of these Bratz kids bikes. I got it for $17, pulled it apart, repainted it, reupholstered the seat, replaced the grips and did some very basic striping on it.

I want to figure out a cool way to haul it on the Bug so I can take it with me when I go places. I hate the Yakima and similar racks though.

I need to get a pic of the cool ancient Raleigh one of my girlfriends rides.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, BUT, I'm looking at buying a bike.

Target here has the Blue/Silver Schwinn Jaguar for $129.

There's also a new one on their website called the Southport available in Black/white for ten bucks less but certainly appears to be the same bike with the same features just other colors available.

Anyone here see or know any difference other than the Southport being ten bucks cheaper?

Wanted to have a black bike anyway, change the bars and add a banana seat (red glitter vinyl!!!) so if the southport is the same as the Jaguar, then I'll just save the $10.

I cruised around the site and couldn't find the jaguar. From the looks of it, the southport has gears on the rear and dosent have fenders.

Have you looked at the bayview cruiser? Can't beat $80, it is only offered online though. If anything I would stay away from anything with gears on a cruiser.

I actually want the gears, loved riding my twin brother's Jaguar.

I plan to ride the bike, a few big hills and long stretches, so I'll use the Tall and Short gears.
