Many of you have asked me about my custom bicycles so I thought I would share a site that pertains to basically only Rod Bicycles. I have been visiting this site for almost 4 years now and the quality of stuff that pops up is amazing. Hope you like it as much as I like VolksRods

i had been slowly cleaning up my first bicycle over the past few weeks... tonight i got a wild hair to finish the clean up. my goal was not to restore but just to preserve it. we pulled the bike out of the grandparents shed this past spring (shed had colapsed during one of the snow storms.) took it completly apart and scrubed it clean and got rid of what rust i could.... braso'd the handle bars, wheels, crank and the other once shiny bits. all the battle scars are still there. still missing a pedal... still has one spoke that was jacked up
1978 amf - roadmaster jr (spiderman)
kindof wierd... i remember riding it as a kid and i remember having it. never thought to much about what happened to it for the past 20 years. i cant remember the day it wasnt there to ride, but now that its back in my life i feel it is my most prized possesion. odd.

i was working on extending my forks for my bike... what i did was take another set of forks and cut them off about 6 inches from the top and then welded that ontop of another set of forks. sounds a bit odd... looks a little like a tripple tree(but not really) i will take a pic when i can

i worked a lot on my bike today.... man i think it will look pretty cool. it might even be rideable!!! i am stretching the frame about 15 inches and i lengthed the forks about 6 inches. i relocated the seat to just above the rear tire.... dont know what i will do about handle bars yet... either drag bars of ape hangers... probably for the time being i will just run the original one. undecided on the color... the bike was originally black but i think i want something different.. i have a few bits to finish up and then i can join the front and rear sections back together.
as soon as i can, i will be posting some pics.

you push or pull it and it will change you're gears. i would leave it where it is and go for a 3, or 5 speed shifter from a raleigh fireball or chopper. i'm sure there's other brands.

depends on how you want to extend the front. you can cut your forks off and weld tubing to it as long as you want or do like i did... i am sure there are a million other ways too

heres mine with a little more refinement then the last pictures. I threw the front fender awayas well as the chain guard, bobbed the rear fender, change out grips and seat to some metalflake, and added the almighty Elvis plate.

now they have spinner wheels coming out for bicycles.... interesting.
oh my bike is now in primer. i could spend longer on smoothing out the frame... but i think its good enough.... ya never know though, i might get a wild hair before i paint it and work on smoothing a bit more... i dunknow. i also pollished up my sissy bar, headlight, goose neck, sproket, and drag bars tonight. it is gonna look bad ass when its all together. tomorrow i am gonna go steal some wheels from my brother
