I haven't seen this one before. I was researching chopping roofs, and this is one of the few places it is quite common.

Looking up something to post on the HAMB brought me here, though I do recall mention of it over at VW Vortex...

I gotta be honest here. I used to spend alot of time at the HAMB doing research and surfing for parts for my 39. I still enjoy the tech articles there. I was really turned off by the bashing that some guys who also had VW's took there. I just didn't get it. there are a a bunch of great intelligent folks there, but some have let the tough guy syndrome go to their heads. I did some search for VW websites and found this place. I see that here, no one gets hassled for what they enjoy working on whether it be a VW or not. So hats off to this place.

Bored at work and fell into it. Now I can't get out of it. Is there a door or something that leads you out of here?

can't remember really, probably found it when I started doing research on fenderless volksrods. I don't even bother going to other vw sites anymore except to look at the classifieds.

I am still trying to figure out how I got here.

Oh yeah I forgot, silly me, it was due to the fact that the hubby decided to chop the hell out of a 62' baja bug or something or other...I was happily sucked in to becoming the picture posting whore.

Searching some shots of VRods and came accorss the site. Liked the atmosphere and kinky avatars :snicker:
Actually loved the site and feel that I came across here. People knowing each other by name and trying to be helpful. I bet you all wave at your local VW's you pass on the road too.

Been here since

I was a "purist" once. Then I figured out no one ever looks at an original car (I know this for a fact).... I want something that we can cruise, drive, raise hell, and rebuild if needed. Being a VW fan from day one why pick anything else....

Lunatic Magnet bought an engine off me, and his old Volksrod blog was either in his email or some such. Later I saw vwfanatic's rpu at a car show and the "pissing off the purists" plate reminded me of this site. Poked around once or twice, then started paying more attention when I decided to buy a bug.
