Turns out the YamaXV650 doesn't have enough power to get you OUT of trouble.

Mine got totaled Saturday night. Had it three days and some female texting while driving ran a red light and T Boned me. Bike's totaled and I'm lucky to be here right now.

If that bike had enough power I MIGHT have been able to get out of the way of that little green Honda CRV Missile.

I'm sticking to BIG bikes from now on.

Glad you're ok!! Damn, I'm glad you're ok.

I'd say you were lucky but if that was the case, you wouldn't have gotten hit.

I'm hoping to pick up a Suzuki RF600 on Saturday. A friend of mine and I ate going to swap my RF900R over to that frame. Should be a little more power then my Honda TLR200.

The cool thing about the RF900R is they used the same bottom end as they're 1100 engine. It's just a different head on it. Hmmm..... Register it as a 600 and have up to an 1100 stuffed into it. ;)

People just don't see MC's. Up here in MT. it takes drivers 'til mid June to realize there are MC's sharing the road.
Glad you are OK. Can you rebuild the bike?
I've got a Yammyhammer 1100 Vstar. Changed bars, cut 3" off of pipes for much better sound and power (hits rev limiter through 3rd gear).
My wife worked in a truama unit, so we always wear helmets.

Ah, texting while driving, yet another reason for lifting the ban on Assault rifles in California. Glad you're okay and she didn't get your leg mixed up with the bike. I run really loud obnoxious sets of horns on my bikes, which helps when idiots on the phone on the freeway try to change lanes into you.

They want to ban texting while driving here in Mass. yet to find out current road conditions near Boston, they have a comercial sponsored by the state that commuters can text a number to find out.

Bike's totaled. I have lots of pics but everything got damaged, the frame got whacked real good right at the swingarm pivot, the rear hub is cracked open, tanks dented and scratched, bars are wasted, foot pegs are ripped off, whole thing's a mess.

But the engine cranks!

I'd love to see and hear that 1100, I might be looking for one here pretty soon, and I've considered the 1300 VStar. I like the shaft drive though.

No texting while driving has been slow coming here in Co. They at least have a start here in that It is illeagl for teens to talk or text while behind the wheel. Though the guy who rear ended me two years ago and screwed up my hands (I'm back to 60 % normal on left & 40% right) was over 50 years old. I think anyone who is in an accident texting while driving should be removed from their vehicle and executed on the spot to keep them out of the gene pool.....but then that's just me.

Found out this morning my ex nephew in law dumped his bike the other day. I don't know the circumstances but I do know he isn't hurt. But his $300 full face helmet is split almost in two!

Everyone has their own feelings for this but I'm glad as fuck we have a helmet law in Mass.

Picked up the RF600 today. In a few weeks, we should have all of the RF900R parts swapped over and put it on the road.

I gotta look into having the frame media blasted and powder coated black. The red just won't look right with the RF900R plastics.

I hear you. Even long before we had them here, I would have never dreamed of riding a motorcycle without a helmet (as I walk outside to jump on my scoot without one. Maybe I should go downstairs and grab it.)
