Re: Motorcycle Thread
Went to my friend Miguel's today to help him put his new extended, chromed, 300 series swingarm and front wheel on his Hayabusa. This thing is a work of art.
I didn't get any before pics but here is what it looks like now.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Just a couple of comments in general. Nice Gold Wing, they look really good when the excess 'wing' is clipped away. A 1-7/8" traier hitch and ball, really?
On the 'Busa...DAMN!
And Fungus. Hope you're okay. I really hate gravel and the roads out here are going to hell by the hour. County says that there is no $ to fix the back roads and they are letting some return to the gravelly days of I guess, the 20's. How quaint.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Yeppur V8T...a 1 7/8 ball.
I had pics of when I first got it, but I think I lost that thumbdrive!
Yes it was quite a joke.
Apehangers, leather grips with 18" leather thongs dangling from the ends, A/M F/M cassette, The synthetic sheepskin seatcover looked like somekinda Roadkill strapped on the seat.. all wrapped in BRIGHT yellow Krylon!

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I am thinking of what I can do to take some more pork off of him....
Maybe find some way to shave a few lbs off of the altornator, I no longer need 385 watts of power .
I also need to figure out how much smaller of a battery I can use that will still start it that battery is as big as a car's.
I should re wire it as well. There is tons of wiring that I no longer need.
The entire rear 1/2 of the frame is designed to support two fat riders, luggage, trailer hitch, ect.
I bet I could cut it all off & build something lighter.
mill the heads to bump compression, put a wideband in the exhaust & jet it carefully

[QUOTE=crack monkey; it looks like it is backwards???? is pocket logo is on his right shoulder???[/QUOTE]
I used to work in a bodyshop next to a screenprinter & I would buy his OOPS for super cheap.
I often had T shirts with the pocket logo upside down or switched front to back or crooked.
I think that shop needed more ventalation

Pockets can be a pain to print.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Hmmm. So what does the seat weigh? Looks comfy so it must be heavy. The fairing and bar combo really changes the look for the better. With only a thousand cc (I'm guessing the displacement here) you should be able to run a smaller, modern battery.
I can't believe that you threw away the leather fringe.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
So I saved enough weight by tossing the taillight to compensate for the heavy seat.
Making the turn inds into stop, tail & turn was no small trick

But that's what makes it fun! The side view shows off the purposeful look. Nice!

Re: Motorcycle Thread
I don't consider myself a Harley guy but, I'd be really happy with one of these. I guess i just did not know about their XRs.

This is a XLCR cafe racer I had once. That XRS looks like a safer ride.

I like the balance of appeal to Harley, Cafe, Sportbike and Flattrack fans. I guess the XR1200 came out as '09 but Storz has made some tweaks I like visually. For my money I'd like to drop the graphics and ad some sort of front number plate and take it to more of a stripped down cafe look but, I think a lot of different bikers could find something they like (and probably hate too) in the design.

Growing up the XR 750 was the only Harley on my radar because that's what the big dogs raced. I love that bike.
