did some tinkering in my barn. Robert lost a buck.
Had to go get teen from friend's house 10miles away , cuz he went there when he was told to come home after school,,,,he's in hot water, because we were waiting for him to watch the other kid so we could go find buck................. He was reminded before he went to school too,,phone~ "oh, I didn't know",, acting more like his father everyday...........
only 3 more years......... ............

sorry, just needed to scream somewhere

edit: on a good note, talked with baja owner last night, he's gonna put up $'s to get this thing running and out of garage, , so we go to carrollton friday and get the rest of the trinket parts and engine kit. plus, he'll let robert keep the type 4 engine for part of the labor bill. only thing left is that $800 interior, he wants stock, his choice, not ours...........

Last night, while taking a brake form the beam extender build up, I got a wild hair and decided to make diner for the wife. So what to cook? Broiled catfish stakes with butter herb sauce and pasta topped with a fresh tomato & ovile sauce. I made a hell of a mess out of the kitchen, but there were no leftovers.

I even did some of the dishes. But I still DON'T DO WINDOWS!!

i find it disturbing too, that there are a few hundred cats there that dont have homes where they can get the love and attention that they so deserve because of stupid people that think that pets are disposable and when you get bored with them or move away or they sneeze, you throw them out. damn....you got me started

and no offense, but i hate people who hate cats
I've spent my entire life around cats and will take cats over people any day of the week. People who hate cats just hate something that's smarter than them...

Now to get on topic...

I spent last night finding a trailer for my new project 65.

My buddies Mom may be able to get me a trailer from her work but it won't be till next week and I need to get the pan and shell out of this guys yard ASAP or he might just have a scrap yard come get it. I'm getting it free so I really want to find a trailer fast before the guy loses patience.

Anyone in the Orange County, CA area have a trailer and nothing better to do?

Now it was yesterday I made it..

First I rolled the patterncut sheetmetal in my mini E-wheel to get it to bulge. Then I bent it to fit the lowe ends together and welded. Then I just hammered the edge that comes against the chromering with a hammer and a steeltube in suitable size as the "mold". Very simple..

ok, heres what i got from it. correect me if I'm wrong

1) cut metal to match a template
2) use english wheel ( a small one) to form the curve of the housing
3) weld small edge at the bottom
4) place housing over a length of pipe
5) form the small lip area you were asking about with a hammer using the pipe like an anvil
6) piss off some purists like nobody's business

I'm in Fullerton.

I might know someone who might be interested but don't get your hopes up.. he's a tad bit wishy washy...

Back to the topic

Got a hold of a buddy and the beetle owner to setup a pickup for Monday afternoon. I am going to use my buddies truck and rent a uhaul trailer to get the beetle.

Drove out to Riverside for the Riverside Ghostwalk. My Fiance's Dad and step brother were reading a story. Met up with other inlaws then had dinner at Islands.

Oh, and work too.

Yesterday I cleaned the shop "a little". Then I started practicing my TIG welding. Today I am back off to Houston for two weeks then I'll get a week off at Thanksgiving time to spend at home.
