It’s great seeing Frankie out and about! Are you going to get him some rain goggles just in case?🤔

Rain and no fenders never stopped me, this is the first year that I haven't put less than 4000 miles on my Volksrod since I got it driving in 2011

I don't think I've put over 50 miles on it this years

Unfortunately around here, Johnny law isn't a fan of no fenders in the rain. As much as I like the look, I don't wanna get a hard time. Dry days, they don't pay any attention, but as soon as it's wet out they're all over ya.

Damn, that's no fun! Now that I got to drive Frankie, I'm gonna be jonesin' when I have to put her away for winter! But it'll be a good time to get some of the finish work done. I've been trying to drive her as much as I can before then.

Saw a cool little customization on Instagram where a guy used the handle of a stubby screw driver, and fit his key into it. The idea cracked me up, but the screwdriver handle seemed like it might be a little bulky. So I was walking through the hardware store the other day and saw a 4 back of mini stubby screw drivers. I couldn't resist. I had to grab them and make one....hahaha

I like the way it came out. Just another fun little thing to add to Frankie. I'm eventually going to colour match the inlay colour with the green I'm using on everything else.

Did a final cut and buff Monday and Tuesday. Installed headlights, turn signals, t bars, hood latch, finished up custom cut running boards, pulled the seats and greased up the tracks, installed the radio and glued down trunk carpet. Installing 32 steel rear fenders next week. Being retired is great !!

Sold empanadas yesterday at a HS football game that’s a 104 year rivalry. And selling empanadas today as I type at a winery. The same winery that has a beetle sitting behind
It, that I want.

Yesterday I pulled the Edelbrock 4 barrel of the Single Cab as it is running rough and won’t idle. When I removed the top of the carb, I found about 1/8” of a grayish gummy residue in the float chambers. Some of it sort of ‘chunky’ but soft.
The last time this happened about two years ago, I found the Ethanol in our crappy gas was eating the 3M rust inhibitor I sealed the 24 gallon steel tank with when I built it some 60k ago in the mid-80’s. I ended up installing a new (stock repro, no liner) aftermarket tank, all new fuel lines, fuel pump and carb. I’ve put on less than 1500 miles and the gummy crap is back. I’m wondering if the short sections of ‘rubber fuel lines could be the problem. I’m also running two in line fuel filters. Plus a Lucas additive.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Most likely. Get some ethanol resistant line. We swapped it in all our gas engines, including atv and mower. I believe it's called Barrier lined. We did ours while hubby was still at napa. In stock since all the lawn service guys started asking for it.
