clear your cache/cookies, search for spyware/virus on your PC. Does any other sites don't work (ie: Yahoo, etc?)

Got my homepage gallery pages sorted out with the help from a fellow VW enthusiast.

When I updated the gallery pages the previous time I did something wrong so the popup photoviews didn't work.

Now they work again.

Guess I have to update the projects and photos now too...

I've recently been blessed with a trojan/worm, it is affecting all .exe files. I'm unable to access the internet so how do I kill it?
Thanks

Does anyone here know anything about writing macros in excel? I've written a few but I'm having a problem getting them to work on worksheets other than the one I created them in...in the same workbook. I'm trying a simple copy & paste one to try to figure it out before getting more complicated. If the image is on the page, it will work. But, if the image isn't on the page (just on the first page), then it doesn't work. I get the END or DEBUG dialog box. If I hit DEBUG, it highlights the "activesheet" line in the script but I'm not sure what to change it to.

It's been a LONG time since I've messed with scripts, but my random guess is that it's highlighting the "activepage" line because when you copy and paste from another page, the code is still telling it to use that inital page as the "active" one.
I'm guessing it says something like "activepage=1", if that's the case, and you want it to work on page two, change it to "activepage=2".

Hope that helps!

hahaha, a long time ago in a galaxy far away, before I joined the navy, I was at a buddies place with a couple of my computers. He was a unix network admin, i was just a geek, so I had one tower we were going to play some Quake 3 on, and another tower we were installing BSD on over the network. Well, we started the day by unpacking all my gear from my car, then had a few brews and a bit of herbage, and then set about the task of hooking everything up.. we got the install tower to recognize the network and begin the over-the-internet BSD installation but when it came time to input things, the keyboard would not work for anything.
We must have rebooted at least a dozen times, unplugged the keyboard, tried it on another machine, plugged it back in, made sure it was fully seated, opened the case and checked for a connector problem, etc..
About 30 minutes later we realized that the key was missing on the keyboard plug, and we had been plugging it into the mouse slot the entire time (they weren't color coded back then..)

hahaha, yea, we decided from that point on that extra-curiculars needed to wait until AFTER we had set everything up to the automation point.. haha

a good anti-virus program should do the trick, I get symantec from the DoD for free, but I also occassionaly run the Trend Micro House Call web page, it's a web based free scanner. Probably one of the most up to date since the virus definitions are on their server. Google it, hope it helps!

Avast is free and works well.

Worst case, you might have to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Just got a notice, my web site has gone over the allowed 1000MB.

I guess that means I'm getting visitors,... or something.
Time to spring for more bandwidth ?

How do I find out where people are coming from,
what pages they are looking at, etc ?

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks.
Ian

Anyone know where to look on Godaddy.com ?

Not that I have anything up my sleeve, but just for the sake of "oh what the hell", how big would a pic have to be for a decktop on a 32" screen?

it's the resolution, not the size of the monitor/tv. A 15" monitor or a 32" monitor can have the same resolution. If The monitor's setup for 1024 x 768 then your pict should be that same resolution.

I just ordered a Samsung NC10 (netbook) for my birthday -

sucks to be me, eh?

Anyway, it has USB ports and a RJ-45, but no CD player. I want to install my Office 97(!) and Visio 2000 from CD onto the new netbook's hard disk when it arrives - without buying an external USB CD drive just for use with the netbook.

Can I use the CD drive in my desktop computer as an external drive for the netbook via either USB or RJ-45 connections? Is any software required for that hookup?

If that won't work, can I connect both the netbook and desktop to my router (i.e., set up a network) and install the programs from the desktop CD drive to the netbook hard disk that way?

I've put my desktop DVD drive as a shared network drive (right-click --> share) then installed the software through my network to my laptop before.

What's easier is if you have a big enough USB drive, go to your desktop and copy all the files from the CD onto the USB drive. Then install the program from the USB drive.

Or find a local PC supplier (Best Buy won't have it so have to be a more specialized company). Find an IDE to USB adapter (or a USB harddrive enclodure (empty shell, no harddrive) for a little more $$). Remove your CD drive from your desktop, attach the adapter, and now you have a USB CD drive for cheap

Or install bit torrent and download a newer version of Office

For my account at Godaddy.com, I've got a "$20 Google® AdWords®" credit, and a "$50 Facebook® Ad Credit".

Does anyone know anything about this stuff.
sounds like 'free" advertising, but what is the catch ?

Is this worth bothering with ?

quick search came up with this:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthr...uid=0&t=868835

Basically you get $$ to advertise your banner on their site. But if you don't cancel before the credit is used up you'll start getting charged the usual $$. Kind of like the free AOL thing, get free minutes just as long as you cancel in time... worth the hassle, probably not. Just another way for the sites to generate income
