.

I took the baja and went off driving through the countryside with a manx buggy following...

It was a really nice day so my mate brought his dog along, now I didn't want the dogs claws ripping my fairly new roof, (when it's folded down it sits where the dog would sit), so I took the roof off and left it at home..

Now, you wouldn't know it by the sky in this one and only pic that I took, but less than an hour after I took this shot, the sky opened up SO heavy, that the money inside my wallet, inside the door pocket, inside the car got soaked...!!!

We still had fun though.. There was a bunch of people 4wd-ing on the same track as us, and after we flew past them in VW Buggies, (they were in Jeep Grand Cheroke's and the like) they seemed to have lost interest and went home...
It might have had something to do with us calling out, "You wasted your money on That thing didn't you",
as we passed....
hehehehehehehe....

I went to the Michigan Vintage VW show in Ypsilanti on yesterday. I spent Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday morning wet sanding, buffing, assembling, and waxing my Squareback in prep for the show. Here is the result.

[attachmentid=5071]

I was sporting my black VolksRod shirt and had the VolksRod sticker in the Squarebacks window. Didn't see any other VolksRodders....anyone else make it to the show?

I did get interviewed for some cable TV show that is being put together about VWs. Sat there in my black VolksRod shirt and talked about my car and the hobby. Was pretty cool.

No fenderless cars there at all.....except in the swap. Couple of nice primered cars, but nothing as extreme as some of the stuff being built on here.

I worked on my new engine with my buddy Don. It's going to be a 1955cc turbo that's going to replace the 1641cc turbo that's in my 61 rag top. Damn I can't wait until it's done.

Got the seat sorted out as to where I am going to put it. I am using the rear seat. Now I just need to sort out a frame to hold it in place.

I am tall so the seat is a long ways back.

Due to my 'x' bitch, cheating, slut whore dark one soon to be 'x' wifes emergency operation on an exploding abscess, a result of her first cancer operation, I have been watching my girls this whole week (till sunday) She now has staples from her belly button to her pubic bone. (I know I said Pubic ) So I have not been able to do any work on my car.
But I'm dating

I was checking the wiring to the electric fuel pump under the tank and then my ADD kicked in Next thing I know the tank is out, drained, sender and drain spout out, washed out with water, washed out with carb cleaner, cleaned up with a wire wheel on my 4" grinder, sanded down and painted.

I put a new in-line filter under it while I was there. I think the pump may be going bad. It is very loud even when the car is running. Usually it is only loud when it's out of gas. Although one of the hoses looked like it may be collapsing so I need to get some more and see if the pump is getting enough gas to it.

Couple days ago: rebuilt my Dellorto carbuerators, replaced flexible brake lines, bled brakes, replaced battery, replaced wires, replaced spark plugs, reinstalled engine, topped off tranny fluid, cleaned bus, and took for a spin around the block. Then sold it.

Today: changed oil, fiddled with battery strap, hooked up heat (just in time for summer) , fixed exhaust leak, and installed a 12v accessory outlet.

yesterday the float valve in my NEWLY REBUILT CARB failed and filled my crankcase full of gas YEAH!!! thats just what I need when I'm late for work!!! so I swapped it for the old one.

....the rebuild kit was from aircooled.net. this is the second time I've had problems with their products, but from what I hear they have a terrific reputaion hopefully I just have bad luck cause I liked that company

Nothing, I think I'm dehydrated again!

I was in my shop on Wednesday till 11:00PM! The front apron was calling me so I cut it off!

But I over did it! I really shouldn't be pushing myself this hard.

I'm off to the Emergency room right now. I can't even stand up my blood pressure is so low! I'm pretty sure I'm dehydrated! And I hope it's nothing worse!

Worked my butt off getting the brakes fixed up on my 72 vert so I could drive it to work instead of the other 72 with the camber problem and almost toast tires.
