Went to the Super Jam at Maple Grove.Met Ryan and Dan (Kenton where were you?).Great people, nice cars.Bought the glass for my oval window roof section for $20 and a really cool deck lid with louvres from a Renault CV something (Nick will know) welded in,actually tacked in but they really fit well.I'll try to post a picture. Also got headers for the Vrod, the kind that sweep up and over the valve covers.Ceramic coated, they should look good on either side of the deck lid with no fenders or apron. Later,Danny...

took the bus on a weekend beach trip! Went down to the CT coast and camped overnight at my buddies cottage. got up early sunday to head to RI to go surfing, waves were surprisingly good met up with my friends at another beach, then headed home. about 250 miles round trip.
but the valve chatter I had at the beginning got progressively worse throughout the trip, and by the time I rolled in at home it was aweful, and the oil temp climbed to 245 and stayed there. Guess its time to yank the motor, adjust the valves, throw some heat wrap on the exhaust and seal up that engine compartment. Gotta make myself a new rear engine tin cause the beetle ones dont fit on my bus. Just gotta get it done in time for Litchfield

I helped my good friend Garry install two pistons and cylinders on his Weber fuel injected 2276. His head dropped a seat, and man, was there a mess inside. First head I've seen where the valve seats overlap!!

I've never put a big motor together myself, so it was cool to work with him. Oh, and teflon buttons are sooo cool. Never used those before.

Here's a pic of the motor before it dropped a valve seat:

Re-sprayed the roadster with 5 cans of KRYLON - Farm Implement Yellow.

Prepping for Litchfield!

Maybe we can respray the three window with a new coat of flat black at the show...

As usual, it's all that damn wet sanding that makes me tired.

Helped a friend work on his buggy, (damn thing wouldn't shift into 3-4). Shifter needed to be adjusted extremely to one side. May still have to clearance the holes to get it to shift better. And damn Empi shifter has on shift gate to speak of.

Went to the storage room and went thru about 7 boxes of brand new parts I'll never use! When I first bought the 1971 back in 1999, the plan was to do a ground up restoration! So I bought 2 of everything just in case!

Then I came to my senses and started cutiing.........................

If anyone needs anything relating to a restoration, let me know!

The wife and I went to work on my car and ended up helping my Dad paint his bike ........We also pulled my Optima battery out of my Dad's tractor and tried to crank the stuper. It wouldn't even click,So a tap or two on the starter sylonoid got it turning over. Then poured some good gas in the carb and on top of the varnish in the tank and the old single port roared to life. The float was stuck so a tap or two with a wrench on the top of the carb solved that problem. My dad said get the air tank and I replied "fuck it, drive it".So off with one stuck brake and both left tires on the rim.So her car is out of the feild and the rear fenders are going on my 57 now that my rims are so narrow ......We got a weekend away from home .....Donald
