Finally, holy shit. Still owe a little money on it, but I can't get my endorsement until next year anyway
It's a mid 70's (4,5 or 6, I don't remember exactally) FLH, lowered and a couple other mods. Only thing It really needs is a tune up and a smaller battery box. Yeah, the big battery is nice, but damn it, it hits me right in the thigh. And it definitely needs some color

Have you considered a bike with a sidecar? I tool around on a ''82 Yamaha 650 Seca with a modified (what ride on this site isn't?) '60 Jawa sidecar. I use her for hauling groceries, tools and whatever. It's a lot of fun. My old dad, who rode motorcycles most of his life told me that "a side car is not a motorcycle." He then proceeded to tell me some funny stories.
Google SIT STAY RIDE for a preview of a documentary on Sidecar Folks and their dogs. My copy arrived two days ago and I've watched it twice. If it doesn't get you excited about sidecars, you likely don't have a pulse.
Think of a rig as you being on two wheels with a third for extra fun.

Been a while!

Here's the latest on my sickle stories.

Sold the little GS400 as an unfinished project and bought this 67 Triumph T120:

The hippy paint drove me nuts so changed it up a bit

Raced it at Dirt Quake

Crashed

Drank some beer in a Rat Fink hat

Made some friends

Decided the hard tail life wasn't for me so I traded the Trump for a 1973 FLH

Got rid of the apes for stock bars and I'm looking for a stock exhaust to replace the obnoxious drag pipes.

The Zed Sled got a bunch of stickers and whole lot of milage put on her. Currently sitting at just over 86,000 kms (bought 3 years ago at 24,000 kms)

Shacked up with a new lady who rides a pretty bad ass Street Triple

and just picked her up an XS400 that is in the basement awaiting some tasteful changes that she wants to learn to do herself

I absolutely love the scene where you're at speed & 'pedaling' along the highway. Very cool stuff!

Had enough of the Harley "lifestyle" ( I think that's what they call riding a totally unreliable, loud, ill handling, slow tank) so I flogged the FLH and bought myself a nice comfy couch.

Also picked up a KDX200 woods weapon for some mountain climbing fun

Here's how I originally found it amongst the rasberry bushes. Had been sitting there for close to 20 years

After digging through the previous owner's property (barn, garage, collapsed shed, under the deck, etc), I was able to come up with most of the parts. Still missing the seat and a few other trinkets though.

So, browsing around I saw a few bikes I really likes the look of and given I had been thinking about using stock bars of slightly longer bars along with an immaculate stock tank in colours I really like...the solution to my problem presented itself.

So, I present to you my BratBike project.

I'm gonna take this stock Honda CBX550F which I have owned for 16 years, but only ridden for 2 of those years from this....

to this kinda thing....

I'm sure it'll involve a bit of this and a lot of this

Here's a quick progress image having spent a fruitful couple of hours on it yesterday.

Most of the ass end will be gone....

...so it looks like this...

surprising it's already taking shape
Coming along...

Oh yeah, bought another project...Honda 400/4 SuperSport for beer money

Project looking good and nice score on the Honda. Back in the day...when I was working for Honda, the 400/4 and TL250 were my favorite bikes to jump on and run into town for lunch. I miss those carefree days.
