We louvered my hood! Put 120 louvers in it.

And we fired it up... heres a video.. unfortunatly we ran outta gas, cuz we had it running for a little bit before I ran to get the camera... I'm glad it runs!!!! And its pretty quiet? Wasnt sure if those pipes would be loud?

I'm in the process of getting the heater channels put in also finally :)

And if things go accordingly, I'm gonna pick up an oval window clip for it this thursday!

Picked up a 54 oval window rear clip and glass last night! Pretty excited about that, it was a random find on craigslist! I'll post some pics this weekend!

No, I got it from Primo, owner of Petrucci Racing Engines in Farmington Hills, he's had it hanging on the wall of his barn up north for a long time. In case you don't know, Primo is a LEGEND engine builder, his engines have won MANY world records. Good to see more MI people around. I'm building a 73 fat chick chop top w/ oval window graft, MAYBE semaphores but I'll change the turn signal to a middle finger, full air ride, suicide doors, and maybe a 2liter turbo. My car is in the chop shop as we speak

Is your ragtop an aftermarket ??? I'm so wanting one but can't get past all the neg. feedback on the kits and clips are hard enough to find even in Cal let alone Michigan !!!

Sounds like an awesome project! Did you do an intro yet? I'd like to see more pics!

Yeah its an aftermarket, came from streetbeat customs. I bought it and am not going to use it now. I have a sunroof top that i'm leaning more towards I think? I'm doing mine kind of traditional if you can call it that? All old stuff nothing fancy, I dont think the top kit will look right. If you decide you want one let me know, cuz I would sell ya mine

SWEET. Is it going to be ready for Billetproof (May 15), or Sins of Steel (June 5) ?

How about Autorama in Feb ?

With the partially chopped top on, it makes that back window look HUGE!

I like it.

Love the bug and how it is turning out. I see your beam extention is an 8" you said? How far from your hood is your beam? It looks like you have a couple of inches of gap.
Are you using a 67 and earlier hood on the front I can't tell?
Someone Baja'd my 63 and I want to do a custom extention I don't know how far yet 10" or 12" and want to build a custom front hood and grill. I have a sliding ragtop on mine and love it so I am hesitant to chop it for fear of losing it.
I want to try and give the look of the stretched out Anglia's from drag racing's past but with a more deco look of the 30's cars. Well see.
can't wait to see the pics of the further progress.

Well, Last night we got the passenger side b pillar and door tops done. Got the rear section all cut off.

Had to dig all that damn foam filler out of the sides and take a torch and heat up and scrape all that tar sound deadener crap off the rear floor and firewall.

Tonight I hope to the oval clip fit in place.

-Gary

All gone!

Looks great , I did my chop a little different because I don't know any better LOL !!!!! but I think it turned out alright. It looks like you snatched up all the cool parts on Metro and flint CL that I was trying to get my hands on. I have been slacking on my project lately and your pictures have given me new desire to get out in the Garage and burn through a few more spools of wire.
