Oh and we have a meet up the morning of for the people that want to cruise down in a group.

It starts at the Beaverton Fred Meyers near the Starbucks.

We meet up and leave there at no later than 6:45AM. From there we go to the rest stop just after Wilsonville to pick up more people and leave there no later than 7:30 AM.

We ususally get there right around 8:00 AM and roll right on in....

Cat Box - if all goes well tomorrow, I'll be driving up to Beaverton tomorrow evening. I figured I'd join in on a convoy as I headed down, but Starbuck's is really close to where I'll be, so I'll try to make it there before you all head out.

I've never driven it on I-5

I'll be there along with Mundo (Ray). Not bringing the Volkster though...Too many loose ends and not enough time between now and then to get everything buttoned up for a trailer ride.

Hey Catbox, why don't I pick up those vents from you at Woodburn? I plan to be in the swap meet area trying to unload some crap and hopefully find a few things. Think we are taking Mundo's Bronco so no aircooled.

I'll come find you at the blow up board in the AM.

OK here is my picture dump...

Here we are at the beginning of the morning at the Fred G. Meyers.

6 bugs and 4 water coolers

So we cruised slow to the rest stop as I had no idea what kind of power the other cars were running as there were some early cars with us.

Down there we found not many people when we showed up but then many more rolled in and out as we waited and talked.

Max the assistant took some pics of us on the way to the show...

When we arrived the show was in full swing and we were sent to park the swappers that were still showing up instead of the blow up board. That gave me some time to look over the cars in the auxillary parking field.

Max was bored near the end of our shift, so we quit after informing the powers that be.

Then we went and walked through the show...

And for the parting shot this is the cowpie that thought that her need to get to the pits and unload her kids car was far more important than safe driving in a busy racing complex. She was driving way to fast and yelling out her window that we all needed to get out of her way as she is late due to us...

She put everyone else in harms way due to her own need to have her life more important than anyone else's that day, don't be like her. We are all there to have FUn.

It was a great day to be out with all of the VW fun to be had...

The Blue Squareback, with the 2 liter alloys, is a good friend of mine, Paul Gelinas, from here in Crescent City. I wrote a feature on him that ran in HVWs a few years ago. I helped get him the car, helped him along the way (great paint job, and I SWEAR it was painted at our local junkyard !!!!!) and he drives the crap out of it.
The red and black Volksrod is the same one I posted about in the Cutting Board forum that was at the Brookings, OR show the week before. Hard to believe the transformation that has taken place in the last few years on that one...

Looks like I am just going to have to head for Woodburn next year.
Thanks for the photos.
