Today really...I'm sorting out my VW magazine collection finally. I've sorted a little over 500 issues of just VW Trends & VolksWorld.

I hope they aren't old issues. Oh well, it just makes mine go up in value. I think I have about 700-800 Hot VWs but I won't know for sure until I sort them. I have many that are still sealed in the original poly mailing bag and I have a lot of duplicates. Once I sort them out I will sell off all my duplicates and use that $$ to try to buy some of the missing issues. I just sorted the following:

Ultra VW (UK)
Super VW (France)
VW Motoring (UK)
VW/ Audi Car (UK)
Fusca (Brazil)
Let's Play VWs (Japan)
type (UK)
Sport Buggies
Total VW

Hot VWs, Ultra VW & Volksworld can be bought at book stores. Hot VWs & Volksworld are available in the US by subscription as well. Check the banner ad on thesamba or try each magazine's website.

I'm not sure which of the other ones are still being printed. I get Fusca from a friend in Brazil and their website is still up.

I worked on my Non VW project that just happens to be a 57 chevy... put the air bags in it to test if the gas tank would drag the ground...

Put the 915 tranny/ Subie combo under the car. Got a LOT of cutting to do and need to start on the custom torsion housing.

Figured out what was wrong with the S-10 and installed a new spider unit on the fuel injection. Works great so far with no extra parts. The're sure not like working on the beetle. I know now why I like the VW more than the new ones.

I really though it would take all day but amazed myself and everyone else and got it done in 3 hours. They wanted to charge me over $800 to do the job at the garage and I said forget it.

whacked down a gone wild jasmine attempting to take over the corner of the house back to a simple hedge.
And lost my witch of a truck, he sanded it all off and she's now all solid grey sealer. Going to camo the old girl.
Aint it funny how never get interested in fixin something up til it needs to get used?
wouldn't it easier to fx hunting buggies in summer and bikes in the winter? I dunno, maybe I'm wrong~

But this is the first time I've seen any of my own art work dissappear, granted the horses on the hood were already gone and the witch was fading, but actually, glad she's gone, part of the past now~ she was tacky now that I have learned better techniques. oh well~

I found a stuck intake valve on #3 cylinder on my daily driver. Pulled the engine, then ran out of daylight. Neither hardware store in my area has ever heard of drop lights, work lights, or any other form of portable light source that doesn't use batteries - so, thumbed to Mall Wart this morning to buy the light I need, so I can swap heads for a used one I had lying around, and go back to driving, while waitling for the parts to come from California so I can put the other engine together. I deeply and sincerely wish that people on this coast had heard of Volkswagens - shipping things from the Left Coast is a pain in the ass.

Stray

P.S. Also bought myself a shiny new torque wrench, as my old one stopped being adjustable - and when I unscrewed the bottom to see if there were obvious problems, broken bits of threaded metal spilled out, making musical tinkling noises as they bounced off my feet.

Sweet!

What I did last night was waste some Fiberglass & Resin... The shit didn't even cure over night on my parts, but, it cured in the mixing tray. Now I've gotta try getting all that sticky Resin impregnated 'glass off my parts to try re-using them.

Built a roller rack out of an old bedframe for the 915 tranny so I could line it up in the Coyote and figure out where to mount it. Measured, cut and finished it in about 90 minutes. Rough as hell but functional.

I also built the rest of the cab except for the firewall and front section because it is all cast iron. Here's a picture of it leaving the shop.

Actually worked and got pd yesterday. Mgr out with pain meds, driver was out with his wife's dr visits, soooooo I went to work for the day. Only problem was the delivery truck? He couldn't get the seat to go forward, I was laying almost flat and it is a manual, Gotta be 6fttall to drive that truck. So, filled the bus with fuel and did a dozen runs with it
So besides still having 1/2 tank of gas, I also got pd for the 830-5 I worked. May do this in the future too do to boss may (pretty sure) he's seeing surgery in his future, bulged and herniated discs/plural are no joke.
Only 'coulda been a wreck' I had was when an on coming new yellow beetle decided to pull out of a turn lane to go straight , well, I was in the lane turning across, they stopped just short of my slid door. 5pted intersection in front of courthouse, perfect lol! But surprisingly with extra traffic, I made good times, driving normal, shops happy.
Anyways, I got $50 in my pocket! (makes up for my ornament $ going to bills , now I can buy more ornaments! )
