Well, I nicknamed my volksrod the Dung Beetle because the kids at school thought it was the biggest pile of shit they'd ever seen. Also its a '58 Bug. Dungbug58 just kinda had a ring to it.
Actually at work they call me Bug, though when they found out I was trying to sell my 74 Super some of them started calling me Bugless.

Well, my name is "Jay," and I'm from Michigan. Yet again, no originality.

Easy for me to remember.

Cuz im an airhead

Actually, i liked the representation of aircooled so thats where airheadz came from

Racing was added cuz i have a VW crew here in Modesto, so i had to finish it like a group/team thing

[and yes, i came up with it before the company Airhead Parts]

heheh

good thread

heres mine...

cuchullain is the anglised version of cu cuchullain, which means the hound of cullen or cullann

is the story of a boy named little Setanta who went to join the King's army of boys in Ulster. The King was so impressed with his ability to hurl his sliotar that he invited Setanta to a dinner party. When Setanta arrived at the Cullann house the party had already started. The gates had been closed and the mighty hounds released to guard the house. When little Setanta arrived he called out for someone to take the hounds inside but no one could hear him. All he had to defend himself was his sliotar from the game of hurling he had been playing. As the hound bounded toward him to attack he hurled his sliotar with such force that it went right down the dogs throat and killed him. Inside the King heard the noise and rushed out. He was very upset when he saw that one of his best hounds was dead and he wondered who would guard his house now. Setanta felt so badly that he offered to guard the house himself until another hound could be trained to take his place. The King was delighted with the idea and hence, Setanta got the name Cu Cuchullain which means "Hounds of Cuchullain". Cuchullain grew to become such a great warrior that many thought him to be immortal. He died on the battlefield as every warrior should and to this day is one of Irelands great legends.

now... from that point onwards the name became firmly embedded in celtic mythology.... cullen / cullann ( english / irish spelling ) being one of the oldest known names in the ulster province of ireland...

my surname is cullen a name which is descended directly from the family of the ancient kings of ireland.

cuchullain was a beserker and when i was a wee baby apparently i was kinda similar ( some would say that not much has changed.... but i kill those people...that say that ) so when i was young, my grandfather used to refer to me as young setanta... or cuchullain

its kinda stuck since then kool huh?

cheers
paul

Mine's not too hard to explain: I have a real Meyers Manx, and a I'm a huge fan of the original Mad Max movie.

Winnie Meyers gave me a misspelled 'Mad Manxter' decal when we visited their home in 2005; I lopped off the stray letters and put it on my Mad Max-inspired GTI daily driver:

Speaking of Mad Max....my buddy here in NY has the first ever MM replica with a functional blower(even the movie car's huffer was a bluffer), and he sent me a recent behind-the-wheel video:

Mine came about from a drunken night with my previous car club. I was stacking a bunch of shit on the club prez when he said, "If you don't knock it off, I'm gonna give you a dumb nickname like Porkchop!" My best friend stopped dead in his tracks and you could see his eyes light up, "That's it!" And that's it..............

I love cars, but cars don't love me.

hence the name = my luck with cars...

It started with a 67 chevy pickup and a rather irate mechanic at an inspection station. he was irate because i had the nerve to try to get the truck inspected, flat black, flames and 13 things to fail it for (half of which crapped out on the way to the station) so i came to the conclusion that day that i was just cursed when it came to cars.. the k is just to confuse people, everyone who reads my tags makes the obvious statement of "you know cursed starts with a c right?"

Mine has nothing to do with the Australian band. I've been using bugdust since about 98-99 and never heard of the band until I tried to register the domain name.

The real story has been told here before and it's not exciting enough to repeat.

My nick name is Happy but when I was 35 someone shortened it to Hap and then at seminary the gang was making up nick names so hapster became a nickname of a nick name--oh and my 69 has hapster plates.
