You definitely need to go by chassis number AND by looking at what you actually have in the car. If you have the three bolt style, you have the early style.

VW was king of the rolling production change. They used parts until they were exhausted even with planned changes, so many parts changed across model years. Parts frequently changed mid year with little real rhyme or reason. Another thing that you Always have to remember is bugs are notorious for being patched togetherby owners with what ever fit and for quite a while new correct parts were often had to come by, but an acceptable substitute from Brazil or Mexico was available, which usually means you can have a car where nothing matches the Vin or the model year.

Man up, grow some skin and welcome to the family.

YEAH, my pinnacle tuation six, thank drips auto correct! Werd. !

Around here that would just be called moments or normalcy.

Warning! warning! Shameless thread hijack. Hot day in a tux? Our wedding was 20 June, '81. 112 degrees in the little orchard in our backyard. `Got a shot of Sherrie touching a drip of sweat at the tip of my nose. Yup, I was in a tux. Things like that make for great stories later on down the road. See what happens on this site...gone from vee dub questions, on through various insults and then on to weddings...'Kinda like a very odd soap opera.

hahahaa That NEVER works~

No worries Dustin, our weekends are busy right now too, just found out my mom is here for 3 days started mid day sat, hubby is going to be gone pretty much til next tuesday night or, until his store is completely moved. They re-open monday in new location, DURING the move of inventory.I was supposed to help with the bus. After that, he'll probably pass out for 2 weeks
btw, I'm meaner in person, but I laugh while I bust you

Nice to get more locals around here.
you'll live~

Good luck with the wedding~ drink lots of gatorade BEFORE suffering out in the heat! BTDT!
