Unkl Ian pointed me at this site when I had some questions elsewhere about a front engine air cooled. Thanks to this site I managed to put that madness behind me and strive for something a little more "possible"...at least for me.

Being here introduced me to purplepeopleeater and another acvw site, and that has led me to my first bug in 15 years! (well, soon to be my first bug in 15 years!)

I'm starting to remember how addictive these little cars are to me!

I heard about this place on Killbillet.com. I got into rats about 6 months ago, then decided by my own accord to use a bug. I had seen some people with VW questions get sent this way, so here I am. Hell, and I thought it was an original idea to use a bug to make a rat.

I was looking through youtube checking out some of the vw bug drag vids they have, and on the side screen a few vids came up for rat rod vw's,looked cool, watched one,a link was thrown up for volksrods, and the rest is history, and a very clean 67' Bug has paid the price for my findings.

I was "working" with the US army in Iraq and this site was one of the few that slipped through the military internet filters.....
I thought there would be porn here.

haha, no, we can blame rob for the majority of the work on my car, but remember I had only spoken to him through like 3 or 4 e-mails before he went to my parents house and towed my car away :P and that was more than a year after I started trolling VolksRods :P

I wanted to start building another VW, but it had been 20 years since my last one. I started doing some searching for a chop top how-to. This site came up in a search and I started searching this forum for other information..finally decided I should join since most of my info for preparing for my build was coming from posts here.

I saw a few pics of the RatPatrol in thesamba and used my search engine and typed in volksawagen hot rod to see pics of other ones. They sent me first to some site that sold kits and I told myself naaww dont want a fuckin' kit. Took a day or so but finally this site popped up and here I was, scared shitless but soon discovered there really was assholes like me out there.

I was trying to find a photo of a type of wheel commonly used on the Beetle-based Nova (Stirling) kitcar and that took me to a pic that was in the Lexibug thread.

My road dawg V8 SuperBeetle kept saying "Volksrods", then I think he put up a link and I hit it. I think I spend more time here than on V8 Bugs.com. Sorry. I like it here. lots of smart asses.
