Scored a '94 Katana 750. Rough body, but mechanically sound. Going to go for my own take on the "street fighter" look.

Within 3 hours of having it home, I'd traced a problem to the carbs. Tore them down, I'll clean them tomorrow and reassemble. Every single screw on the carbs was seized and stripped. Took a chisel and a careful application of a good dose of ball-peen hammer to get them out. Everything internal on this bike is clean as a whistle! Intake ports were immaculate!

Stoked to have some wheels back under me. More updates later.

Went to my 3rd bike meet today, 2nd year at the safety course.
Couple of nice bikes, a VW and a V6 trike.
Light turn out due to weather.

Like last year, lot of talking but at least different folks from last year and seemed more excited at my location and the new work.
Maybe things will pick up later.
Good day out~

Its a blast, supposedly the largest single day MC event in the world, but lots of people make it a 2 or 3 day party.

Some day, I'll make it there.

Always remember, on the 14th.

Sorry. "Manometer" is the technical term for a carb sync tool. This motorcycle has 4 carbs, so I tuned the inner 2, then the outer 2.

Much less syncing up 4?

The center tube between the 2 bottles reaches to the bottom (or near it).

The two connecting to the vacuum ports on the carbs are just pushed into the top of the stoppers.

So if you fill the bottles slightly less than halfway full, even if all the fluid gets sucked into one, it still won't flow to the carb.

The idea is not necessarily to get the level even in both bottles, but to get the vacuum balanced, which means the cessation of flow between the bottles.

In other words, if you get the flow to stop, you're balanced.

For my setup, the throttle cable hooks into carb #3, so I balanced #2 to #3.

Then I proceeded to balance 1 to 2, and 4 to 3.

Worked pretty well! I tested it with my buddy's professional one later, and it was very close to spot on.

That's a fuckin' piece of BAMBOO. The broken remains of the lever only go into the bamboo by about a half inch. It was then wrapped in what looks to be an entire roll of orange electrical tape. THAT'S THE F'N BRAKE LEVER!!!!!!
