Here are a couple pics of my XS650...traded for it built like this. Making a few changes...smaller headlite, adding turns and reinstalling starter. Kev.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Took the $$$ I made from the pinstriping job (see attempting stripes thread) and picked myself up a little project bike.
It's a 1979 Suzuki GS400. The PO had already started cutting it up so the rear has already been bobbed and the ends capped and shaped into points and most of the tabs have been shaved. He was meticulous about bagging and labeling parts and wiring so it shouldn't be a big deal to get it back together after some more shaving, welding and painting. He was riding it before he took it apart. The plan so far is clip ons, rearsets, cafe/tracker seat, kick only, minimal wiring.
Something along the lines of this but not exactly:
Here's where it sits now
I'll get some better pics this week once I start tearing into it.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Unexpected garage sesh last night produced an almost working rear brake linkage (I now know what needs to be modified to get the gixxer rearset to operate a drum brake) and measurement taken to make up the shifter linkage once parts are acquired. Stoked!

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Haven't had much time to play with the little 400 lately, just messed around with a gauge mount and trying to figure out mounting the big 'ol tractor headlight.
Wednesday on my way to work on the Z1000 in the pissing rain and running late as usual I didn't quite get stopped for a stop sign and laid it down. Totally my fault. I'm an idiot. Oh well, shit happens and I'm fine. Broke the left peg off and banged up the tank pretty good.
Should have the parts for the peg mount by tomorrow and I'm just going to cover the tank in stickers or something.
On a brighter note, me and some friends have been putting on a monthly bike. Had #3 last night, some photos HERE.

Re: Motorcycle Thread
Something followed me home the other day. Needs a bit of repair on the tank, has minor scratches on the left grip and left rear turn lamp housing. Not quite sure what to do with it as walking it backwards out of a parking place (can't always park tail in) is very painful to my bad hip, but sure is a great ride.
