As a Vietnam Vet, I thank you for your support. Iíd also like to thank our local Santa Rosa VA Clinic, and San Francisco VA Hospital for their excellent care. In the past eleven months they found and removed a small cancerous tumor from my right kidney, and reattached the retina in my right eye. I am now cancer free, and have full use of my eye. I canít say enough about the excellent care we veterans receive from these fine folks.

I second what V8 has said. I think the VA hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. may be the best in the country. Pulled my ass back from the edge a couple of times.

I'm so glad to hear that there are some stellar Veterans Hospitals around. I have personal experience with the Major one in the Dallas area (Texas) and wouldn't;t send my sick dog there. Seems the operation at hand is to medicate until the patient can't tell what's going on, until they die. I have seen the disturbing state of things first hand, and can tell the majority of the employees there couldn't care less. I'm not saying that all of them are that way, as I did experience a few that had a heart and soul. But with all work places a huge amount of place holders and people there for the paycheck only. The Janitorial staff might have been the best overall part of the system. The hospital was pretty clean each time I was there.
There are a couple of well liked and supposedly stellar Veteran hospitals within a drivable distance though, so at least there's a way to work around the poorly run Dallas facility.
