I havenít been more than a lurker, but have been slowly working on a new build. But being 40 and going back to school full time and working full time doesnít leave much time for anything else. But I graduate in May so the sparks will fly after that.

Huh, "old farts?" I recently ran into a guy at a parts store with several, well, let's say, "lots of years" on me. He restores vintage trucks and revealed that he's 85 years mature. His theory is that working on projects and being creative in that way keeps you young.

Sorry Alykat. Being here for 10 years makes you an old fart...
And I've been here since the beginning of time too making me one of the first 14 members starting this group...

Life has been a mess the last few months. But I'm just now starting to venture back into the garage. Will be checking in here for ideas and motivation

I think back to the STF days (is that still around?) and then the first 10 years or so here. Lots of good memories and some kick-ass builds and people.

I couldn't tell you the last time I was on the samba or cultwagen or KCW or if any of them are still around. Personally, I just burnt out on the VW scene...it has changed so much since I bought my first bug in 1986. VWs went mainstream and I think volksrods did too for a while. Cookie-cutter volksrods were popping up everywhere. Personally, life got in the way for me...work, family, other hobbies. I burnt out after spending all my time not working on my projects. I finally sold off all mine. Then, I did the Jeep thing for a while, bought boats and atvs and campers. Now, I spend my free time on trikes...the pedal kind. Check out The Trike Page on facebook. And yeah, facebook happened. I still check in here from time to time.

We have a nice bike/walking path in our area running from Forestville into Santa Rosa. A section of it was part of the old railroad way back in 'The Day.' I'm seeing more trikes in the last year or so. They look like a lot of fun.

I plan to start on the body work on mine once it warms up a bit, still trying to decide if I want the Rat Rod look of nicely painted look, I guess it depends on what I find once I get started
I also hope to get my Eldorado out of the garage before June gets here, just don't hold your breath

Hi. I dearly miss you guys.

I now have a 64 Caravelle Camper split window, dropped 5" on Sprintstars with a straight axle swap and a 1914 in the back.

I sure hope life is treating you all well.

Oh and I live in Ohio now lol.

Hi BUGDUST. STF and KCW are both still plugging away. I drop in at the KCW shop about once a month or so when I travel to Grand Junction for VA visits. There is a feature article about them due out this month or next (I think) in Volksworld magazine.
