Breathtaking. A true work of art. Congratulations. You will need a trailer for all the awards.

I officially have to be done or "showable" by March 16th! Very exciting! Have about a million little details to resolve before then so updates will come regularly...

detroit73super - - My last two: The Stoll Coupe and Bug Truck both went to my buddy in Hawaii. Told him about this '37 Volkster idea and he expressed his interest position. Neither of us had any idea what would come of the final design or $$ involved but he's good with it.

don't want to stray too far Off Topic.. is he a native Hawaiian? I was always under the impression that non-natives could only own a set number of cars per family.. or maybe that's just a Navy rule?

Quick update, nothing fancy, more of a "wanted posting."

For those of you who have grafted a vert windshield frame to your sedan windshield posts, your old type 1 sedan glass will not fit your new convertible windshield frame.

Perhaps you all knew? Hell, I didn't.

SO...

WANTED/NEEDED ASAP: - - '65-'72 convertible bug windshield. I know shipping glass is a real gamble, but I need something asap.

Anyone have one or a retailer that will ship for a decent price? I have been quoted $200-220 from two sources but looking at other options. Both are shipped from CA.

Any help?

Just for the heck of it I went to bing.com and put in 67-72 vw convertible windshields in washington state. Got 6 hits in the Vancouver area. I didn't call them, but it may be worth while to try something like that on the off chance they do have a classic 'shield on their shelf ?

The 2012 Portland Roadster Show is right around the corner!! March 16-18th Expo Center.

Meaningless aside to the main thread . . .

WOW ! ! You live in a LOVELY neighborhood ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I was just looking at the pictures of your car, painted and beautiful, rolled out into your driveway and noticed the surrounding homes for the first time.

Hope to see some fellow Volksrodders at the show. I'll be there all three days walking around and hanging out. If anyone shows up and wants to see it "inside the ropes" PM me and we'll set a time to meet.

Thanks TC. It's one of those high-density neighborhoods. Lovely until you run a grinder at 10PM at night and disturb your highly densified neighbors!...some people.

I have, fuel, power, brakes, suspension, and steering. Interior has been sourced! I'll take some photos over the weekend when I have plenty of light.

Carpet is on order and will be here in approximately 8-9 days. Pushing it!

Picking up glass tonight. Drop off with template tothe glass shop Friday to have cut. Should have it back mid next week to install if he doesn't break it in process!?!
