Update time.... Talked to Fred yesterday and all of the upper main pieces are done. They were short a few of the bases, so I will be going down to the foundry tomorrow, Wednesday, afternoon to pick everything up.

Then I need to drill the holes in the bases and number them all. Hope to have them in the mail by next Monday or so...

Well, going to be one more day. Got called into a meeting at work that I couldn't get out of, so I could not get down to the foundry (45 minute drive) before they closed. Don't like it when real life gets in the way of the fun.

Anyway, blocked the time on my calendar tomorrow to go get them. Will post pics tomorrow night.

Well......

here they all are....

50 sets of nice shiny aluminum hood ornaments....

Wait....what are those yellowish parts in there?

Yup, Fred cast me a couple of sets in Manganese Bronze (or yellow brass). These are wicked cool and will be numbered 01/02 and 02/02. Number 1 is going out to the Boss (just shut up and say Thank you, Steve) and Number 2 is going to the highest bidder with half of the winning bid going to Steve to keep Volksrods alive and the other half to me to help fund the next project.

Bidding will end at 11:00pm EDST on Friday May 18th. Highest number posted in this thread before that time takes it!

Here is a little bit closer view of the brass one.

I love this shot!

Here is a shot of the patterns after making all the parts.

I think I am going to take them down to Jill's brothers place this weekend and use them for a little target practice with my 12GA Double Barrel Shotgun!

Yes I will post pictures...

OK...got holes to drill and numbers to engrave and boxes to finish addressing.

Damn I was gonna bid, but the 1st bid puts me out
I know that foundry work isn't cheap, but where do you all get all this money to spend on your cars?

Hell I can't even afford to pay for gas to make a 400 mile round trip to get parts for my car

Guess I'm a hafta break all my wife's fingers, and bust her in the mouth so she has no choice and has to give up smoking, cause I'm not gonna help her smoke them
I just recently refuse to buy them for her, if she wants them and needs another pack I tell her to go get them herself, that caused all sorts of shit to hit the fan
I gave up smoking just shy of 24 years ago, si I refuse to buy them for her, that didn't go over to well with her, she's still not talking to me unless it's something really important

I don't think I could have bid more than $25 and that's like pulling teeth to her

Oh well, I do like them, they turned out Super nice

Ron

Damn they look killer. I can't wait to get mine, not that I have anything to put it on yet.

The brass is even better, great idea. I really wish I could step up on the bid but baby needs a new pair of shoes, well braces for the kid really.

Thank you John for all your hard work and time on this. I can't imagine all that went into it.

Damn... I've been so busy with starting construction here at our place, I totally missed this!

Now... how can I shut up AND say thank you?
Since that's just not possible, I'm gonna just have to lay a big THANK YOU on ya, John... I don't know what to say

Those Bronze versions amongst the sea of aluminum just looks amazing! I can NOT wait to proudly sport that on the front of the Panty Buncher!

Thank you John... they all turned out AWESOME!
