Just figured you would like it. I think it's cool anyway.
That is SO cool - where can I get a green generator belt like that?

I was wondering how the tailpipe handled the weight of the motor as he dipped it in a 55gal. drum of paint?

I've seen a few industrial engines are totally painted...maybe not quite like that but totally painted. Mine is all grey; distributor cap, wires, fuel line...everything. I hit it with the hose so some of the 54 year old paint came off but it was all grey.

i saw one the of threads on the samba, the guy who owns that industrial motor said it came completely painted, but had some scratches and so he repainted it, it was supposed to be a matte finish but he screwed up. at least thats how i remember it.

but i like the way the wheel wells were filled in like that
gives it much cleaner look, doesnt look like the front wheels are driving out from the front of the car

I like the front cleaned up too. You know, all the mounting holes filled and smoothed, emoving the bumper mount stampings, even moving the arch to clear the beam forward and filled back in and reprofiling the ridge above where the old wheel arch was, but something just doesn't look right the way he did it to me. it looks like a sheet of steel was just tacked over everything or something. it also may be the late hood making the front end too round looking. Definitely needs an early hood when going fenderless to look right. IMHO

I think it is a matter of the classic volksrod form has been fairly well defined to most of us by now. Our eyes expect certain cues that aren't there. It's a smoother look that might benefit from the right graphics but, otherwise it's gonna look "wrong" to alot of us. I'll bet it's a bit more aero than the regular way but, nothing compared to what a chop would do.

I'm thinkin' if one of you hot photo shop guys put a pointy hood and Bonniville chop on this ride it would look not awful bad.
