I just use my Craftsmen drill press and then hand tap them using a little ivory bar soap for lubrication. Doubt you need a machine shop for that job.

Some genius on a water cooler forum,

Or unscrew the stock one and measure it.

Re: "Genuine" Volksrod Shift Knobs
I can still make them. I will have to check my list to see what numbers are still available, but that will probably have to wait until Monday. Heading out of town in the morning for a long weekend in Chicago.

Re: "Genuine" Volksrod Shift Knobs
Hello everyone!
Christmas is around the corner, and I am back among the living! (long story)
Sooooo........John - would #81 be available still?
We are up to some shenanigans here in AZ - and #81 fits our latest project.

If you have an iPhone, have you tried the ‘Spare Time App?’

Re: "Genuine" Volksrod Shift Knobs
Yeah, the iPhone has problems. What was supposed to be the Spare Time app sent me back to 1938 instead. But I did get to see the Forestville Fire Department’s ‘37 Ford fire Engine NO. 2 when it was brand new.

Re: "Genuine" Volksrod Shift Knobs
Just got back from a quick run in the Single Cab to our little town’s hardware store. Truck’s running great and the shift knob feels just right.
