After chopping my top I figured out the amount of chop for the vw.

total chop in inches is taken vertically at the B-Pillar

By my calculations then if you wanted a 3" chop you would take a full 3 inches vertical out of the b-pillar. By my ratio for a straight chop (not a rake chop) you would multiply the 3 inches by 1.25 and therefore take 3.75" inches out of the a-pillar on angle. For the C-pillar (wraparound to the back window) you multiply the chop by 1.333. So you would take 4" on angle fron the middle of the back window.

so if you wanted a 5" chop
B-pillar 5" total vertical
A-pillar 6.250" total at angle
C-pillar 6.665" total at angle

B=B pillar, A=A pillar, C=C pillar

B= A X 1.25
C= A X 1.33

:sleeping: math sucks but it works.

I eyeballed mine:

A = 4.25"
B = 4"
C = 5"

Logan

yeah, the geometry to figure it out "correctly" isn't all that bad. Its just a little trigonometry. however, I didn't want my roof to come straight down. I brought it down in the middle a little more than the front so that it would flatten out a little bit. Just trying to take care of that bubble shape to our cars.

Yeah, that's the plan. I'm hoping to start on it after I get the hub/axle taken care of. I just need more time and a garage would be nice with all this rain.
