Default New member Bug of Indecision

Hello. My name is Mike. From the high Desert of Socal. Been lurking for some time now and after 8 months or so finally was approved for the site.
Little back ground.34 years old.I have owned a few bugs & Ghia's over the years. Been welding for 18 years but not as a profession just small fab stuff for my self and friends. Never gone quite this far with a project. I work nights for DHL Mars as a tasker & reach truck driver.
My project started as a 73 super. Its now sitting on a 80 Datsun/Nissan 720 chassis. I was going for a stretched heb inspired look, but after seeing some of the trucks others have done I've gone from plane A to plan F and back to Plan B and maybe somewhere in the middle.
With my work scheduled I haven't had much time to work on it.As of right now I was most of the way to the heb look and went 5 steps back and cut the rear back off and am now on the hunt for a 40's-50's truck cab to section. Anyway heres some picks and thanks for having me

Haven't worked on the bug truck in about three months . Been working on some cars for me and some friends for this year's demolition derby. Did a 98 Volvo s70 for import class and no one else showed up with imports except a couple we brought back from last year. So I finished them off in a three man heat and ran the main event against 11 full size cars and placed 4th.

Here's a link of the YouTube video of the three car heat and the final. Also have lots of the build picks on my instagram

Well once again photo bucket screwed me and millions of other people who hosted there images with them. They killed all the photo links and want $399 a year to host 3rd party images. Good fing luck with that. Been using photobucket for over 15 years and now they pull this bs. WTF. I might as well kill this thread because I don't have the time or patience to find another 3rd party hosting site and fix this mess. As always you can see the build pics on instagram until till I get this worked out

Gas filler patched up.

Pretty much all the welding is done on the cab. Just need to grind everything down and hammer out what I can.

Grinding welds takes a long time. Lot more grinding and hammering to reduce the need of filler.
