Default Foolzvolksie says Hello.

Hello Volksrodders, my name is John and I am Foolzvolksie.. My parents bought a 1959 Bug new and I was born in 1960. Not exactly sure what that means, but I have been around VWs a long time.

I currently have a 1966 Bus, in the family since new, and a 1974 Beetle, a recent addition. I also have a 1984 Diesel Rabbit, a 1974 Lincoln Continental 4 door that is mildly hot-rodded (yes, I know, who builds a 6000 pound hot rod.), and a 1962 Ford Ranch Wagon project car with a 6 cylinder and three on the tree. I won’t mention the ’82 Chevy Diesel Blazer or the ’99 Jeep Cherokee. I don’t want to look like a caraholic (Hi, my name’s John. Hi John!)

I’ve loved Volksrods since I first saw one in the early 1970’s. With the recent resurgence of Volksrod popularity, I have been chomping at the bit to build one. I have learned a great deal from this forum as a guest and felt I needed to join up, so here I am.

My current thinking is to build a pre ’68 bug, beam extender, mild top chop, and maybe mild channel or section, depending on how rusty donor car is. I like the tall and skinny wheel look, exposed engine, more “rod in progress” look rather than Rat Rod look.

The (hopefully) enclosed pictures are my Bug, a backwards me with the Bus in 1974, and the Lincoln.

I'm glad to be a part of this madness. Thanks.

Guess I'll re-read the How to post pictures, again.

Let's try my pictures again.
My bug, before and after, me and my bus and our brand new family Super Beetle (in 1974), and my hot rod Lincoln.
