Here's my 76 Honda cb400f. Clubman bars, cafe seat, Ontario pipe, pod filters, starter delete, rearsets, some bobbing and a few billet bits.

Got two more colors on the bobber this weekend....orange and process green.

Going to finish off with some imitation gold (non-metallic golden yellow) and then call it good on the striping. Still might add a flying eyeball before all is said and done.

Got a chance to ride a bit over the last few days. Very happy with the mods and the seat is not too bad comfort-wise.

Thanks. I am thinking painted on the tank right now, but will consider the bolt-on idea for the side covers once I have the fabricated.

Great looking bikes! I really like the Café look. Both the Café and Bobber style appeal to me for their simplicity and down to earth fast appearance while parked. The striping is itself worth the price of admission.

Had this for a couple of years- just sold to make way for the same café project job but this time on a Suzuki 600 bandit. Not as cool but easier to live with if I'm honest

Tried on a modular helmet I like. Fits great. Time to hit up revzilla for a new skullbox so I can go test ride stuff!

Have put a few miles on the bobber over the last month. Rides great and gets lots of looks.

I finally got around to adding the flying eyeball to the tank. All 1-Shot letter enamel done by me. I am pretty happy so far. I still want to outline the flying eyeball with at least bright red and maybe a second color too. WIll see if it ever warms up around here.

Here are a few pictures...

Taking it to a little show-n-shine at work tomorrow. Should be fun.

Default Brat Bike project - UK

Hi everybody, Having just got my VW Bug on the road http://volksrods.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33845 my attention has turned to my winter brat bike project. Been thinking about how to modify my old motorcycle and had looked at cafe racer style, somehow I didn't relish riding it with dropped clip-ons...with my back??!!

So, browsing around I saw a few bikes I really likes the look of and given I had been thinking about using stock bars of slightly longer bars along with an immaculate stock tank in colours I really like...the solution to my problem presented itself.

So, I present to you my BratBike project.

I'm gonna take this stock Honda CBX550F which I have owned for 16 years, but only ridden for 2 of those years from this....

to this kinda thing....

I'm sure it'll involve a bit of this and a lot of this

Here's a quick progress image having spent a fruitful couple of hours on it yesterday.

Most of the ass end will be gone....

...so it looks like this...

surprising it's already taking shape

Slick! It's funny how much the look changes (IMHO for the better) when you tone down the ,um, "ass."
I'm looking forward to more...or less?

It's looking even more stripped out and brat like now

Do you think I should start a build thread on here?

PS I promise not to use Americanisms......

Do a build in complete British vernacular. include lots of regional swearing. It'd be entertaining.

well done gentlemen, and V8 you're quite correct in your translation - I'm writing this from a Buddist temple in Shanghai who specialise in mechanical exorcisms. My trek across the European/Asian continental firmament was nothing short of uneventful with bugger all to report to be honest. Simply got on my bike and rode to China - where's the drama in that?

Fear not Alkykat, I shall be reporting in the finest Queen's grammar, with punctuation included when I can be bothered (I'm sure Her Maj swears sometimes as well )

..and Dr H, being as you're a doctor, I'd expect nothing less than for you to be highly educated and more than likely bi-lingual, so translation and comprehension would be a synch sir - period!

I've made some more progress so I'll start a build thread I think, thank you all
