Drove the bug and had a buddy drive my buick to a car show another friend of mine randomly told me about..... Unfortunately no one seemed to realize it was being put on by a frickin' HONDA club........ Shoulda seen the looks we got coming in.

Most of that ricey shit, I just don't get..... start with plastic economy cars that are busted to hell, then pile on tons of shit to an economy motor..... yada yada, whatever. Some dude had an american flag tag on a civic..... wtf.

A couple nice 5.0 mustangs and a vette showed up along with a typical chevy c10 with tubs/slicks/cammed 350...... nothing of real interest.

As my buddy said "hey at least you showed em a real steel car and a real hot-rodded 4cylinder"

dear lord almighty I HATE RICERS and need some sort of voodoo priest to rid my cars of the bad taste....

Here's the buick.... the hood is bigger than those ricey things......

Didn't take pics, cause there was no need to break my camera.

I got ONE fender on. Then I found out that one of the brake cylinders was leaking, so I had to tend to the brakes once again. Then I got air bubbles through out the lines. So today I'm going to buy a bleeder kit from HF to get this brake problem done and over with TONIGHT!!!! It has been 2 day f'n with these brakes... The pump, pump, bleed takes to long for my to do so I'm buying the kit. I hate this. I was planning on putting all the fenders on yesterday until this shit!!!

Wasnt yesterday but it was saturday. I replaced the calipers on my 91 gti. Getting them off was easy peasy. Getting the new ones on was a bit more work. 2 tripes to the parts house and 7 hours later, they were all on and bled. It drives like a whole differetn car now. Not bad for someone who's never bled brakes before.

Attended the Pomona Swap Meet.. and took a whole bunch of pics
also visited a friend that I hadn't seen in 6 years. Probably one of the best days I've had in a long while.

Scott, problems with brakes is nothing new,, most of us will agree
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but you are doing them in the right order yes?
And, you might just wanna go get another mcyl, many of us have had to switch them, even brand new/or rebuilts a couple of times til one actually works correctly.
Sucks, yes I know,

What is the right order? I have SOLID rear brakes. It looks like one of the plastic nipple on the master is twisted or cracked. I took the one plactic nipple out of the 71 stuper beetle master cylinder to replace the one in the 67, if it fits. Its getting to the point I want to pay someone else to do it. I had solid brakes then I changed the hoses from the res. to the master cylinder. Then thats whan the nipples got twisted.

order is~
rt rear
left rear
rt front
left front.
chances are, you take it to someone else, they will replace the whole system!
We've come across mcyls that ,,, just quit.
Hubby and I have spent hours bleeding and adjusting brakes. I should be able to kick a ball from here to the moon!

Thanks.
I'll be doing this myself. I would love to push my problem to someone else but, how will I learn??? LOL!!!! OK, I'm just cheap...... I have bled them out in order. The farthest first, closest last. I just wanted to make sure. I'll check around for a master cylinder then. I really think its the hoses up front.

second on the defective master cylinder. One time when I replaced the whole system on my bug I ended up trying to bleed them for at least a good 3 hrs to no avail..... yep crapped out master, bought ANOTHER new one and had no problem.

I FINALLY GOT BRAKES!!!!!!

It took 4 days, 2 wheel cylinders & a master cylinder. Then it finally was solid! I took my time and double checked everything. I bled them out myself and was VERY thorough with that.

Thanks for everyones help and guidance.

I would tell anyone to buy the brake bleeding kit instead of doing it the old way. It is SO SLICK!! I'm glad I bought one (20 @ HF) you can't beat that.

Yesterday I was home with my Passat and there was something that hit the bottom.
Didn't do anything with it but this morning I found out that the oil pan is cracked and that I lost all the oil.

Don't think it was street legal. The guy looked to be about six foot and was Very Cramped-Up.

It was a beautiful day yesterday!! I took off work and had a FULL day of working on the Bastard. I put all the fenders, running boards on, lined up the doors and installed a couple of seals. I had to roll it out into the sun to get a couple of pics. I test fit the door glass. What do you guys think so far?

PA doesn't have a color restriction. Just a light % restriction. But yea its going to be a RED FLAG for the cops. I'm just hoping they don't pick on me since its an older car and I'm not a young punk who's out to raise hell. I truly feel they will let a lot slip since its a older car. I think I'm going to have the list of everything ilegial with the car and just hand it to them and ask them to pick no more then 5 at a time.

This morning wanted to replace the pan. Bought a new one from the dealer. When I removed the old one I noticed that the pans are different. The dealer ordered for me a pan for a Passat from a later model. Can't use it. They need to order another one.
Also found out that an engine support rubber is damaged and needs replacement.

This is not my day.............

Well, I got pulled over for the first time yesterday. Not notable except I am 39 years old. I was driving my wife's car bringing my daughter home from swimteam. I was climbing a small hill and in the rice car had to give it a little pedal to maintain the speed limit. My daughter said she was cold with a wet head and all from swimming. I looked down to adjust the heat, crested the hill (still with a little pedal), realized I had crept up to 64 mph (in a 55) and let off the gas. Just as I did I could make out an oncoming Sheriff's car. As we passed in opposite directions I just pulled over. He turned and pulled in behind my car. I had my license ready when he walked up. Keep in mind I am driving my wife's car... He walks up and points out what I knew, I was speeding. He asked for the reg... I could not find it. He then says my tabs expired last Oct... So, speeding, no reg (big deal in WA), and 6 mos expired tabs. My daughter asked, "Dad, are you gonna get a ticket." I replied, " Yep". I see in my side mirror the guy coming back to my car with only my license in hand and tells me to slow down and get the tabs taken care of tomorrow.
That righteous mojo I have been throwin' out came back to shine on me yesterday.

I have found that if you know you are in the wrong pull over ASAP and have everything ready for them. They see that you know you were in the wrong and mostly leave you go with a warning. I have been caught doing 85 in a 55 and I pulled over ASAP and just sat there waiting for the cop to catch up to me and I just handed him everything and waited! I knew I was screwed BIG time and he cam back can said slow down. This happened to me quite a few times now. I LOVE to speed!!! This is why I buy small engine cars!!! I can't image me drive a v6 or a v8....

Hope you have good luck in the future!!
